The best bit about NL games were the oppo striker could be clean through on goal after a Keystone Cops calamity from your defence and still spoon the fucker 6 foot wide, I guess you don’t get that insurance policy up here so much.
Don't you believe it :)

Right I'm starting to get my head round this and having got institutionalised down there things seem a bit different so I need these questions answered.

What is an ifollow and how does it work?

Do we get a reserve team?

Are Salford even bigger bellends than they were before?

What's it like playing Forest Green?

Do you still get these stupid fines if you play less than 10 regulars in the LDV trophy or whatever it is now?

For more recent promoted clubs, how's the standard compared to the NL?

I'm looking forward to it. Bearing in mind the lack of pre season I'll be happy with 20th. Although if we keep our key players and manager we might do alright. But then I haven't seen any football here for 4 years. I don't really have any expectations just enjoy it and not get relegated.

And I really want to smash Newport the way they gloated on when they stayed up.
1. It was the only way we could get to see games last season, to be honest some times it was more enjoyable sat watching on my computer in the warm and dry with a cup of tea (including milk from a cow).
2. Maybe, depends if you want one.
3. Don't get many, or any, of their fans on here...to be fair, most who will be following teams in this division next season seem OK...hate to say it but I will miss some of the Cheltenham and Grimsby fans, who posted some good stuff and added balance to our forum.
4. Never tried it, sometimes following them can be emotionally draining...but on a good day the football is a joy to be hold, waiting to see what direction our new coaching duo want to take us in.
5. I ignore that competition completely.
6. Much tougher, we underestimated it at the start of our first season. Our squad was largely what had earned promotion, with a few additions, but it was weak overall. A couple of shrewd defensive additions in the January window kept us in the league...by one point!

All I can say is, welcome back and good luck!

I also like the way those BELTs are trying to convince themselves that the National League is stronger than League 2 nowadays...

Hopefully get up to Hartlepool as a ground I havent done and have family up that way.

Always an odd fixture, we have had a dreadful record against Hartlepool since we came down from the Championship in league fixtures not winning one but absolutely wallop them in cup ties (6-0, 6-2 and 4-0).

Looks fairly balanced compared to previous years where it was a very northern or then very southern division, though still relatively few midlands clubs.

A welcome sight that map, after four seasons of playing shitty tinpot London suburb teams a trip to Mansfield and Oldham is nirvana.

Yeah looks nicely spread out there. In all honesty for ourselves and Walsall for that matter it makes no odds with us being the midlands everywhere is relatively comfortable to get to.

Think the game will be most looking forward to is the DC Derby with Walsall. Could be a little bit of needle in that one.

Looks like as well as the league fixtures coming out on Thursday we also find out the League Cup and Pizza Trophy draws as well

Is Hartlepool as much a depressing Soviet satellite state shithole as Grimsby? I hope not. I used google streetview to check out where to park for a Grimsby match once, it reminded me of world war 1.
They voted tory so it must be really posh now.

It's a tough Northern town yer big fanny, what do you want spa's, bathhouses and tea rooms, you're only here for the footy.

When you go to Forest Green, you can pay extra for undercover standing or seating but you still get wet when it rains.

oh, and it always rains when you go to Forest Green.

Well, I am very excited for this.
How much work will you need to do on your ground to get it up to standard with seats and capacity. Seems like there is plenty of space.
