Crewe is close by and doncaster is the closest to a derby (if still in league 2 next term) - hopefully.

Wimbledon, meh
Gillingham, meh.

Fleetwood would be alright.

Get your thermals out lads and pray it doesn’t rain.

I’d actually quite like to go to Barrow. Has anyone ever said that before?

Maybe I’m just kidding myself. Instead of Sunderland and Bolton we’ve got Sutton and Barrow.

How very annoying.

(no disrespect to anyone you’d feel the same too)

Just heard Neil Harris Interview - Would love to know who those 7 contracted players are, quite an eye opening interview, no punches pulled. Basically called the whole club a disgrace.

i'm sure the big names coming up from the National League will make up for the disappointment

Ah I see, I didn’t realise you were up already. Congrats.

However bad news is that entire first team is out of contract (bar one or two and some kids), so you might still get the chance with another L1 side.

But then again you’ll probably just re-sign him anyway.

Stockport and Wrexham? It’s not unusual for us to share the same league with those two, I’ve been to both. Although I am expecting them to be very strong challengers next season.

Unfortunately I don’t think we will be, but who knows.

Surely Ehmer signed a longer contract than a year? It must have been the longest wage negotiation in history.

We’re currently under an embargo. Can/could only sign players on one year terms.

Apparently we won’t be under an embargo next season if we meet the EFL’s terms (although we have no choice but to wait and see on that one).

Hello, we're back next season after 9 seasons, bet you lovely people can't wait to go in the scaffolding
My one visit was on a gloriously sunny autumn day when we won 1-0 with a fluke goal. A Tuesday night in February would be horrendous. Not keen on returning unless it's at the end of the season and we're in with a shout of getting promoted.

Yes, I know Kingsmeadow was a shithole but it was all we could afford at the time.

Does any fan in the football league look forward to an away day at Gillingham?

Just wait until you go straight down next season and you’re faced with Maidenhead and Boreham Wood!

He also had a good go at Steve Evans as well didnt he?

In fairness if away fans come directly into Gillingham, watch the game and then bugger straight off afterwards then I don't blame them for not enjoying it. Take a bit of time to plan it a bit though and it's alright - either stay in London for beers and get the fast train in, or get into Rochester where there are loads of good pubs - Gills is only a few minutes away on the train from there.

Last two times we played at Priestfield in late 2014 me and a few mates went to the Reillys in town first for some games of snooker before watching us lose both times.

Always enjoy Gills away, probably helps that we can get there in about 40 minutes though.

Always go to Rochester first and then usually head through the high street to The Canterbury Tales, they’re always good as gold in there, good alternative to just heading straight into the Fleur Des Lis.

There are ways of making any away day good, it just requires a bit of thought

Some nice pubs in Maidenhead though, and the ground has character (but they are looking to move so get in quick)

damn - Gillingham must be bad....
In fairness Northfleet is just as bad, you just don't have to walk through any of the town to get there from the station so it gets away with it a bit more. The walk from Gillingham station to Priestfield is short but grim.

All that said, Gillingham (Medway in general actually) suffers from the same affliction that has run down a tonne of former industrial towns, namely that the main industry in the area has gone and investment has been limited since. The fact that it's in a supposedly well-off part of the UK as it's in the South East shouldn't disguise the fact that in essence Gillingham is no different to any of the mining towns in the North at heart, just happens to have the additional factor of London overspill as half the population. It's just a poor, run down part of the country really. Half hour to London on the fast trains though, so not the end of the world.

went on the coach so saw a bit of the town, but got your point.... it's certainly not like Canterbury (where I was at Uni)...

It can be a good day out in fairness, just spend your drinking/eating time in Rochester which is ten minutes before Gillingham on the train. If you’re in a family group it’s got a castle and quite regularly has events on (last weekend was the sweeps festival which always attracts crowds).

As for the ground I don’t actually think we’ll use the golf stand as the away end, much more likely to house away supporters in the covered Gordon Road side. That is unless you bring decent numbers but I’m only expecting that from a few sides unless it’s an important game.
