sunday sunday here again. millwall best away performance at Vale Park this season, although that's kinda obvious seeing as they're the only team to win there. despite that apparently good performance at VP they've been surprisingly average most of the season. form wise, we've won our last two (inc. a rare away win) against poor opposition and millwall beat a p terrible oldham at BP but have been pretty terrible at home lately luckily for Vale.

Our away form is sketchy to say the least and the performances have been negative but it's definitely a game we can get something out of, especially with 'wall playing tonight and us being heavily rested- that might not work in our favour though.

Anyway whatever, can any SE londoners recommend me a good pub between Nunhead and the Den to drink in pre match? By good I mean cheap and I won't get my head caved. Or should I just go to London Bridge?

Hard one to call this, Millwall were superb at Vale Park and the only league victors against us at home but seem so wildly inconsistent and poor at home.

We've picked up again lately but overall are poor away and have a disgraceful record playing on Sundays! Boxing Day 2003 the last win!

1-1 AJLS

We're so Jekyll and Hyde with our form. We've been dross at home for years now so losing to anyone is never a surprise. One of these days we'll straighten it out I suppose.

I'll echo the 1-1 prediction.

A couple of great selection problems going into this as well!

Grant is back from suspension - easily our player of the season so far BUT Michael Brown has put in two man of the match performances in his absence.

Inniss back from long term injury- one of the best centre halves at this level but we can't drop Duffy or McGivern who have played well lately and conceded 1 worldie goal in 4 and a half hours.

If only we had similar good problems with strikers! See Millwall got turned over at home last night, not sure if that's good for us or not though.

We are utter shit at home. Beaten by three different League 2 sides at the Den this season. I know Vale aren't too hot on the road but this is a great opportunity for them.

It'll be a draw, leaving Vale 4 points off the play-offs.
Vale are always 4 points from the play-off places..

2-0 haven't turned up according to the commentary. Same old Vale on a Sunday.

Twice this season Millwall will have handed our arses to us. Pretty much damage limitation now. Not as though there's even a slight chance of Vale pulling even one back.

Embarrassing! Our defence had been solid but sounds like we've gone to sleep big time. Inniss will be getting straight back in next week.

Typical of Page a side poor at home we go with such a negative set up.

Sam Kelly on for Daniel... No desire to get back in this by having a second striker on. Well done Page.

Second striker comes on and gets his first goal in the FL! Probably pull out of talks for another hitman now :err:

Heaviest defeat of the season and apparently was a shocker similar to the Exeter performance. Not very much to be positive about other than Hooper getting his first FL goal and first for us which may finally give Page something to think about.

Very very poor and typical of our time in League One that everytime we get close to the play offs we put in a shocker and bottle it.

after the Hooper and Dodds subs we were better. We made Millwall look better than they actually are. Fed up of Pages 1 up front shit.

We've got to be versitile, Harris knew the line up as Page never changes a winning side but with Millwalls home form we have to go to attack them and we didn't until 3-0 down when Hooper comes on.

It's not just today though he did the same at home to Maidenhead United ffs!

I can understand away to Walsall or Coventry doing it but not today. It only works relatively well with Dodds in behind and Andoh occupying defenders but he's injured so that's screwed that.

Sounded a lot better. I expected a reaction today but still have doubts over Harris in the long term. He is inexperienced, though, and deserves time.

another negative performance tactically from Page. Teams must love it when we visit.

Page's time has to be up soon and one word will sum up his tenure in charge; boring. Can anyone name more than 3 exciting games where we've battered an opponent and dominated? The answer is no. Yes, it is ok if we steal games 1-0 quite often, but we don't do that. We don't threaten teams full stop. Playing AJ Leitch Smith up top on his own, with no one around him, against two six foot defenders is not going to worry teams is it? We are so slow, cumbersome and lethargic it's unreal, nothing fast happens in order to get the opposition on the back foot. We're the most predictable team in the football league.

He's certainly put me off going away matches. Having gone to as many as possible for the last 15-20 years, I've not bothered going the last 4 away games and sadly even though we won last week I wasn't disappointed not to be there. For now the fun has gone out of following the Vale away.

Same here, i usually go most away as well as home but a mix of a baby and our away form the interest in that has dropped off, starting last season when for eg I had a ticket for Barnsley away and had to force myself to be arsed to go.

I did Crewe (first game), WBA (Prem new ground), Burton (30 mins drive from me), Coventry (30 mins drive from me) and will do Wigan (new ground for me) I have yet to see us score away from home this season!

Strangely after years of being poor at home other than Millwall we've not even looked like losing at home and havent even been that great lately such is a direness of the division so credit to Page for that but away from home its the constant same mistakes, same negative line ups, same flat performances (other than Coventry). What really is annoying me is we have had enough time to have changed things but Page keeps with what isnt working on the road!

We went to Colchester who were out of form and conceded 10,000 goals this season with a negative approach and lost, today Millwall were on the back of 4 home defeats, a great chance to be positive and get them on the back foot and their fans on their teams back, the only games away where we have been positive was Coventry and Walsall which arguably are the two games you could understand a negative approach too!

£50-100 per away day watching us this season or spending time with my baby daughter. Not a tough decision!

Just seen the highlights... we wont let in three poorer goals all season, awful defending! Free header for the first from six yards, Duffy goes to ground for the penalty when he didn't need too and the third is something you'd see in the Sunday League with about four opportunities to clear our lines.Very uncharacteristic of our defence this season. (usually corners that do us to be fair!).

The first was a great cross and the foul for the penalty was drawn from an uncharacteristic bit of clever technique from Gregory. Third was definitely poor. I know it's cathartic to blame your own players after a poor performance but give a bit of credit to the opposition where it's due.

Its a great cross but from a defensive point of view to give him a free header from there is criminal. Our goal was equally criminal to concede.

I think there's a difference between 'poor' and 'could do better', the vast majority of goals can be prevented.

Join the club mate, sick of wasting money on away day tripe. Though it could possibly be me as the jinx. Only missed 3 all season, Barnsley and Blackpool included where we won !!! Sick of the away days Port Vale nil, so at least we amazingly scored a goal on the road yesterday. Only one person to blame , no actually two , Smurf shouldn,t of appointed him in the first place after last season's calamity and lucky escape due to Yeovil being absolute turd.
