As transparent as the white pillow case you've sobbed all over for the last two hours.
You keep believing that Stevie if it makes you feel better. I predicted Soton to progress and thats what happened.

Always want us to win but at the end of the day this was a nothing cup. Let the bus companies have a go at it.

P.S. Sturridge is finished.

Admittedly, it is.

Until you're in the final ofcourse :smug: - everybody knows that.

Let the bus companies have a go at it.

Wow, if the legendary Luis Suarez heard the League Cup referred to as "a nothing cup" he'd be gutted. The League Cup was only trophy he ever won for Liverpool and it holds a very dear place in his heart.

Fun fact: said trophy is also the only thing Liverpool have won in the last TEN YEARS.

I'm not sure if you were on TFF back when we won it? It's not like your lot congratulated us on winning a significant trophy.

It's a nice cup to win but you don't care much if you go out before the semi finals. Every fanbase treats it roughly the same, great to win and not so tough to go out of. When we won it the United fans called it a nothing cup, if you win it this year we'll call it a nothing cup. It comes with the territory and it's the same every year, regardless of which teams/fanbases are involved.

Below is a quote from yourself when you went out last year.
Oh well, it's only the Coca Cola cup.

I just happened to run over a quote from stevencc as well ...
best to leave the small sides to fight amongst themselves for this one while we concentrate on bigger things. Arsenal and Chelsea had the same idea.

Yes, for a team who's won a Champion's League, multiple PL titles, an FA cup in the last 10 years, it is pretty meaningless, but for a team like Liverpool, who have only won one League Cup in the last 10 years, it seems pretty silly to be talking it down. Especially when you've got a manager who lost 2 finals last season, it would've been nice for him to get that first trophy at the club.

Goes to show what a team in the middle who are probably safe can do in the cups if they take it seriously. Well done Saints.

That's right. No need to talk this down it was a disappointment not to get into the final with a chance to secure already a EL Spot in February.

btw: just a small correction: Klopp has lost 2 finals last year (in 2 seasons) not last season. I know it doesn't make a big difference, just saying ;).

You disagree?
My point was that every fanbase acts the same regarding this cup, exceptions none. I quoted you and steven just because I thought it was a bit funny (as I'm sure you'd agree had it been anyone but yourself, so let's agree steven's post was funny). In response to this you lifted a bunch of titles won by Sir Alex Ferguson* and, ehm, a cup you hadn't won at the time of the posts. Then you wrap it up with a line that could have been applied to your own manager at the time, aside from the fact that he hadn't reached any finals at all.

Basically, sometimes it's better to just say "fair enough" (you can still do that). Or like last time in the Stoke thread when you apparently were wrong on purpose because you couldn't be bothered typing it out.

* Since SAF your club had, at the time, shown extremely worrying signs of going in the wrong direction. It's fair to say, especially then but still, that your next ten years won't be half as successful. So while you could say you weren't as in a desperate need of a trophy as we are, you could certainly have used one, but the minute you went out it was "only the coca-cola cup". By now, even you, should see my point regarding all fanbases acting the same regarding the league cup.

You can tell it's a small-time, nothing cup to both Bilo and Saltire by the fact that they haven't stopped ranting about it since exiting the competition.

Completely logical stuff, lads.

When I have I called it a nothing cup, or in any way belittled it? I've spoken about the fanbases, but best of luck finding an example of me belittling it in any similar way to how you did last time you went out mate.

Do you disagree with me?
All I've said is that Luis Suarez would be disappointed to hear the League Cup referred to as a "nothing cup" given it was the only trophy he won for Liverpool, and that it's a bit bizarre to see Liverpool fans talking down a trophy given they've only won one trophy in the last 10 years, I'd have thought they'd be desperate to win another.

Well, that and defended a post by including a trophy you hadn't won at the time. Did you do that on purpose?

I'm not belittling this trophy, I was gutted last night. It's just extremely hypocritical* by you or steven to have a go at any one of us for doing so, which unless I'm mistaken is G-Dragon and nobody else.

* I know you don't like this word but I love this word.

Edit: fucking Saltire.

It's a good word.

Someone used the word codified yesterday which is a personal favourite of mine.

That and luxury.

I know mate but Nilsson is the only person I've ever met/been in touch with who's flat down completely denied being a hypocrite so we've got a bit of history regarding this.

Anyway, for the record, I care a lot about this trophy and I'm here all night because I'm at work with VERY little to do.
