Southend are in very good form currently and picked up an impressive win at Boundary Park on Tuesday night. Scoring 5 on the road is always impressive, regardless of opposition and form. Wigan stumbled against Burton, but had been on quite the role themselves in recent weeks, with performances matching the budget and expectations of the club at this level.

Big game for us. Not for one moment do I think Wigan are come down here and walk all over us. Think their will be goals maybe a 2-2 draw we could even sneak a win. Jack Payne is vital, the boy is so good!

I'm also happy with the point, we had to play a defender in midfield yesterday in Glen Rea but he put in a decent shift playing a holding role. It also keeps our unbeaten record in November since 2009 intact for another season.

Noel Hunt, David Worrall, Stephen McLaughlin, Michael Timlin, Myles Weston, Gary Deegan and Anthony Wordsworth all still missing for us but should hopefully see a few of those back for the next game at Bradfrod in a couple of weeks.
