After another disappointing game at home last Saturday, Southend will be wishing they could get three points they've been searching for since beating Stevenage on the second match-day of the season.

This will be guaranteed to be played infront of at least 7,000 fans, rumours are going around that Pompey will be bring 2,000 fans, only time will tell.

Southend are missing two key players due to injury, Michael Timlin and most recently Ben Coker, who is now out for four months, later on Thursday, Southend should be announcing a new left back, on loan from Crystal Palace. The results so far for the Blues haven't really been as good as we were promised by the manager and people associated with the club. It's not just the results that are poor, it's also the football, seemingly returning back to Paul Sturrock days of booting it upfront to the big man upfront.

The only real promising part of Southend at the moment is youngster Jack Payne, who had finally been given a chance in the team and has scored three goals in two games, however was taken off after scoring in the 60th minute, and was the only real bright spark, Southend then went on to draw the game after a dive by Danny Hylton, winning his side a penalty and winning a point, even though Oxford really should have got all three points after a sluggish second half performance.

My Southend line-up if everyone was fit would be: Bentley, White, Bolger, Ibendfelt, Hurst (RWB), Coker (LWB), Timlin + Leonard (CM's), Conor Clifford (CAM), Weston and Payne (ST). But the likelihood of such a formation being used is as far away as me going to the gym, it isn't going to happen.

Who knows though, we could actually win! UTB.
