For all the comments when we signed Harry Lennon, I'd just like to report that he has been excellent. Weve had to manage his fitness given how long he's been out so he hasn't played every game but when he has played he's looked an excellent defender at this level, unflappable and good on the ball,
As he came from that Southend team of last year it’s hard to Imagine that Lennon is any good.

(what do you think of that one Son of Cod ?) :bg:

Can you condition for broken bones:lol:

He came to us in the summer and he clearly hadn't trained with you lot. Had he been released?

Because he hasn't played a lot for a long time he's being managed carefully. Doesn't take away from the fact that he's been good in every game he's played in.

I don’t know. The word was Brown was going to take a look at him then he signed for you so I guess he hadn’t. He wasn’t in the official released list.

First day back after a 2 week break in Croatia and boy have the wheels come off for us.
before I went, the performance against Stockport was creditable even if we were blunt up front, Lost at Wealdstone, but bounced back with a good result against Wrexham. All OK and much as I expected from a mid table consolidation season, but jeez, since then! Lose at home to Aldershot , with both our goals having the word fluke written all over them, a disaster against Halifax and a sucker punch defeat at Torquay. No creativity and a lack of pace that all the supporters can see and Phil sends the team out on a 10k run for losing after the Aldershot game.

It's all going terribly well, still at least we can't lose this weekend!!!!!

If it makes you feel any better you got a draw at Wealdstone.

Enjoyable weekend for us, we’re not going to embass ourselves because we’re not playing, people are trying to organise a protest against the chairman at home to Chesterfield . Wanker that he is, after putting millions into the club he’s not going until the new stadium/ housing is built.
Would be very happy if the protesters find someone to take over and take over the debt. Please join the the long list if you want to spend your money.

Thanks to the useless wankers of Essex police away fans aren’t officially allowed in pubs closest to the ground, but plenty of pubs on seafront / High Street, but if your wearing colours should get in pubs close to ground. Safe journey and enjoy the game / protests.

I've heard that along with David Dickinson, Donald Trump and oompa loompas everywhere he's been calling for an Orange History Month for well over a decade.

Cheers mate. Happy to get involved yesterday. Like I said to a few at full time, we’ve been there and done that and come out the other side eventually. Good luck

Fans zoom call with Stan 40 minutes in, link will be on Shrimperzone later this evening.

"
I'd like as many SUFC supporters as possible on the call but for the main points to be made by the supporters groups that may not be practical so I hope it's recorded.

I'm anticipating an hour, ask whatever you like but I'd steer you towards the following.

1. My involvement since May.
2. Role offered in May
3. Why it didn't happen.
4. Further communication with Ron/Tom
5. My thoughts on football staff and playing staff
6. Yesterday
7. Protesting
8. Recruitment of next manager
9. Club direction.
10. Ron and I
11. Timescale
12. Further involvement

Ample scope for questions and crucially thoughts from you guys.

What is off limits for today ( ONLY because it has no bearing on getting important things done immediately)

1. Fossets Farm
2. Consortia

1 is not my remit whatsoever, 2 is irrelevant today after Ron's comments recently and there are bigger fish to fry this week.

Lookimg forward to seeing everyone, I'm here for you and your club.

Stan"

The major problem still remains for us though, Ron Martin. His role on the football side of the club over the past decade has got us where we are now and as great as having Collymore on board with things is, the only option we should be pursuing now is attempting to remove Ron Martin as owner of the football club.

The other thing I'd find acceptable is if he goes back to having nothing to do with the football side of things. In the early days of his ownership he did this well and actually sorted out our incredibly bad financial situation while letting the football people at the club do the football things and keeping his nose out. It's been a good decade now of him acting like some Roman Dictator and letting no one make any decision on anything without his stamp of approval.

The Latest, Stan is IN!!

"I am delight to announce that I am officially part of the recruitment team to interview and employ the next Southend United Football Club manager.

I have communicated with Ron and Tom this evening and a 4 man team including myself, Ron, Tom and Gary Lockett will be whittling down my 18 candidate list, plus the candidates that the other gentlemen have.

The process will be written down to see a clear and transparent thought process as to why and why not candidates end up in an interview and final choice process so that clear thinking from all in the process can be seen and therefore be clearly accountable.

7 of those on my list have come back to me and are very open to interview, it's important to note that I have now wiped my schedule for the week ahead to be ready 24/7 to be anywhere to interview but this will be different for Ron and Tom who have other business to conduct.

The aim is clear though. Getting the RIGHT man as manager of Southend United as speedily as possible but cutting no corners in making sure every candidate is asked questions across the football remit. A real and proper due diligence worthy of our club.

I'm sure in coming days there will be questions about the team on Saturday, other potential changes at the club, etc. Those questions are at the forefront of minds within the club and no process, however important will be to the detriment of the team, an important FA Cup tie and making sure the club has every tool available to function across the football department.

Thank you to the supporters clubs who gave me their support this evening, I will pay your faith back, I promise.

We move!!

Stan."

Maybe Collymore could try getting Joey Barton in as he likes smacking women too.

Isn't getting the fans favourite involved part of the tried and tested tactic of the malignant club owner?

The aim being to take the pressure off them and to divide the fanbase further.

Tread carefully Southend fans.

Combine them as a management duo and Southend will be giving most teams a spanking.

Stan was involved before and he got us a new CEO in Tom Lawrence from Gills. Heard good things about him and I think it's a result of him being a good hire than Ron has allowed Stan to come in and help with the search of a manager. Ron's clueless hence bringing back Brown. He needs all the help he can get.

Everything that has happened since 5pm Saturday has been to divert attention from Ron. As I said before, I don't mind Ron staying in charge, but he has to rewind the clock 18 years and remember why and how he was a decent owner then. If he can't go back to that style then he needs to go, regardless of getting help from Collymore or anyone else.
This appointment is more critical for me to see if Tom Lawrence and Stan Collymore are strong enough to not pander to Ron because I still don't like that he has any involvement in choosing football people for the club.

Akin to Allen/Carson giving Danny Wilson then Jack Lester the job at Town.
