Redditch have been deducted 3 points for fielding 2 ineligible players, they were proven to be suspended.

Update time again - things have become a bit interesting as Diamonds have managed to secure a playoff spot while getting beaten at Egham - thanks to St Ives going above us by beating Aylesbury FC, the last team who could break in to the top 5. With just one game remaining for most teams it means the title race is still a 3 way battle, but both ourselves and St Ives are guaranteed to be playing away in the playoffs. Personally this will be my first experience of single leg playoffs at the home of the higher placed team.

While we gave ourselves some hope last week with a 4-0 win over struggling Barton Rovers, the truth is it was probably a bit of a false dawn given that we've struggled against most of the top sides this season. The only team in the playoffs I would be somewhat comfortable that we could beat would be St Ives, but I'd also rate our chances against current leaders Kings Langley. If we play Royston or Egham at either stage though I doubt we have much chance - well beaten by both sides home and away this year.

So congratulations to Leamington on making the playoffs after a bit of a closer call than you would have liked!

It's hard to confirm the playoff fixture dates as they are not actually on the Southern League website! I'm lead to believe both Division 1 Central games will be on Tuesday and both Premier games will be on Wednesday, I'm guessing the South and West games will also be on Tuesday?

AFCR&D visit Royston Town, a team who have beaten us twice in two meetings this year. Hopefully all that goes out the window and Diamonds can start finding the net again. Any win of any sort will do me, progressing to the final has to be the number one priority this week. It's far from a disaster if we don't go up, the season has been extremely successful for us, far more than most of us would have hoped, the only thing I want now is a positive finish rather than to be left wondering what might have been.

Frankly I think the division has been relatively weak this season, and I think if we are moved sideways in to the Northern League Division 1 South then we will have a much tougher time finishing as high in the table.

Good luck to Diamonds at Royston on Tuesday night.

I'll be at Top Field on Wednesday night for Hitchin vs. Hungerford. Hoping the Canaries can make it to the playoff final.

Absolutely delighted for Kings Langley. I love to see the local news n league teams do well.

As their literally a village team I can't see them going much further but getting that high up the pyramid for a club of their size is an amazing achievement.

Yep, both S&W games Tuesday night. Would like to see Taunton go up, they've got a decent little set up there and potential to do well. Both they and Banbury have good crowds for that level (average over 300) so could be a threat in the Premier should they go up.

I think the fact that they have had 3 successive promotions with crowds of around 100 (now) tells you all you need to know.

Not taking anything away from the team they have or the management, but just trying to put in in perspective. It's not exactly a Leicester winning the Prem underdog story.

We're through! AFCR&D won 2-1 away at Roytson Town. Severely deserved victory on the night giving the home side barely a chance until they scored in stoppage time to make the end a little nervy. We went 1-0 up as Jack Bowen lashed in a half volley from a half-cleared corner. 2-0 came as the Royston 'keeper took out Bowen 1 on 1 and earned a straight red card in the process after their final sub had already been made. Captain Liam Dolman stepped up and put home the spot kick showing a captain's nerve. It was the first minute of 6, maybe even more actually played, that they took one back with one of their very few shots on target, but Diamonds did well not to give them another sniff to the delight of the majority of the crowd.

Elsewhere St Ives won on penalties at Egham, meaning they will host the final with AFC Rushden & Diamonds as the visitors. Could we possibly do it?!?

Christ, Hitchin well and truly threw that away. All 3 goals they conceded were soft in the extreme, of which the keeper needs to take blame for the 1st and 3rd goals.

Bugger.

We went 1-0 up on 81 mins before being pegged back and then losing in extra time. Some penalty shouts for handball as we knocked on the door but probably a fair reflection of a game that never reached the performance levels we hit on Tuesday night. Probably end up playing in the Northern League Division 1 South next season now.

I'm here next season then...

Make sure you talk to Nick Leek then... ;)

Damn, I wanted Corby v Kettering next season and I'm not going to get it.

I was hoping for either vs AFCR&D... although I'm now actually hoping that both us and the scum go up next year in order to help prevent us from being in the same league as neither team is ready to host the derby proper yet. Neither ground could be segregated properly, though I think both club have officially got plans for how to segregate a game due to being required to from the FA Cup 1st round (IIRC), neither ground would be very effective at it.

Most Diamonds fans are neutral towards Corby, possibly even a little bit of a friendly attitude towards you lot. Wonder if that would stick if we face you in a competitive game any time soon.

Light is getting closer at the end of the tunnel!!
Still awaiting confirmationfor where we will be playing but updates are set to be regular on the website...buzzing for next season already...cheap season ticket (£99- actual price, not early bird or anything), new ground, new league, new teams..... definitely not reckoning well be up there for promotion, but since relegation the club seems to have been making massive progress and we can be optimistic for the first time since promotion from the Conference South!

We haven't done much in terms of signing players (6 registered so far with 1 new) but I'm much more confident now compared to when were effectively Relegated against Bath a month or two back.

Fuck me, another update, 2 in the space of a few days:eyes::ohm:

This is how us Hayes fans should've been treated throughout this whole 5/6 year struggle! If not every couple of days there shouldve been a weekly update or something regardless of progress.

Pictures inside the ground this time, and it looks good...now c'mon someone tell us we're going home!!
