Dispensation only lasts for the season with a view to a potential rule change to be proposed for next season. The FA suggested squad numbering, however I would expect the proposal will be the same as how the UCL changed their rules - it will largely not affect other clubs too much, but allow the starting 11 to wear any of the available numbers.
