Firstly, YESSSSSSSS!

It was a game of two halves. First 25 mins you should have been 2 goals clear rather than 1 as Ajose and Norris absolutely blew 1-on-1s. We were awful in that period especially defensively but Swindon pressed well and moved the ball quickly looking threatening when attacking. Last 20 mins or so of that half we reorganised with Robbie Hall on the right, Chris Maguire in the 10 role and Liam Sercombe on the left which balanced the team far better. This allowed Marvin Johnson to affect the game going forward and the Swindon defence became far less assured. Chances were even in this period of the half.

2nd half, we utterly dominated and ran through the Swindon midfield at will. If we'd shown more composure we'd have scored earlier, as it was a lovely few minutes of scoring capped by a fine strike by Robbie Hall. As Radio Oxford said scenes on the Stratton Bank! Swindon's defence looked in permanent panic mode in the 2nd half.

Swindon players last their rag after going behind with a couple really losing it including after the final whistle. Vigoreaux's sending off, lolz. Twice sent off against us this season and both correct*.

I have to ask, is the pre match and half time music your announcer's personal collection as it is awful? Poor turnout from the home fans in numbers as well. And that flag unveiled before the game at the Town End, again just lolz.

Edit: Darren Deadman actually had a decent game which deserves a mention as I didn't think it was possible!!

*2nd edit: At the game from behind the goal it looked correct but, from the highlights, Vigoreaux was wrongly sent off and Thompson should have gone instead.

'Swindon town pride of the West country? They're not even the pride of Swindon by the looks of the crowd and is Swindon in the West country?
Since they won the league against us in November a couple of years ago, they really have been poor.

Internet is fine in London though Eric!

Sounds like we were second best today. No complaints from me. Our management are a sack of shit and our pansy ass side doesn't have the balls to win a game of chess against a 5 year old let alone a Derby match.

I have severe doubts we'll be meeting again for a while, barring cup draws etc.

Welcome back to the league 1 forum Mr Up, you fearing the worst down Bristol way for you to make your way down here?

Thanks AS, I hope you're well. It's not good at the Gate at the mo as our manager hasn't got a clue what he's doing but we have more than enough quality to survive. With all respect, I don't fancy being back down here and our rebuilt stadium would look ridiculous in L1, absolutely comical.
Is Swindon in the West country? I thought Bristol was called the 'Gateway to the West' so it starts by us doesn't it?

Cheers CU, yeah not bad thanks, result today disappointing but not unexpected.

Re the West Country geography, well I've never really lived around that way having been brought up in Edinburgh and then abroad in Europe so my visits to Swindon were limited mainly for football.

However, looking at the font of all knowledge - Wiki, it seems we just make it into the West Country -

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Country

I actually quite liked the banner however it is probably as ironic as Swindon fans singing 'we're by far the best team, the world has ever seen'

What I will say is we'll probably be in the bottom 3 after the next 4. Derby, Villa, Leeds and Newcastle ALL away from home. OUCH!!!
Love the division though and our crowds are decent which would drop like a stone if we did come back down.
We'll be okay, I hope, GULP!! :ffs:
Swindon in trouble again or not?

Bloody hell, I thought our next 3 in Bury, Oldham and Northampton was tough but that's a shiter of a fixture list! You'll be doing well to take 2 points from those games, all cracking away days though huh?

I haven't looked much at the Championship but earlier in the season weren't you around mid-table? Have you been on a slump? Has selling Kodija affected you?

Nothing positive from us at the moment. Luke Williams couldn't manage making a cheese sandwich and Nobody seems to know what Tim Sherwood does aside from apparently having good contacts (we signed 9 in the last transfer window). The players lack desire and the football is drab and boring. I go much less these days and only have 1 more game (Coventry away) marked up before the end of the season. Really bored of the football team sadly.

Does anyone know what happened in the tunnel for Appleton to get a cut on his face?

4th before 8 consecutive defeats bud, the worst run in the clubs history. It shows we can compete if it weren't for the plank in charge of the first team. With all respect to LJ, he's not ready for the Championship and probably should have already been removed.
Tammy is covering the huge hole left by Kodjia and we've spent a few quid but that's the Championship money, not the Kodjia money. Stay up and I've no doubt we will smash out record transfer in the summer. We will have to as Tammy is destined for the top table, he's that good. Staying up is the hard bit, especially with LJ in charge. He needs some experienced help as the Championship is brutal but a great league to be in, I absolutely love the standard, it's very good!
All I will say about the standard difference is that our squad now is miles ahead of the squad that went up as Champions but that doesn't make us a team! Imagine Lee Tomlin in L1? He would have a field day WTGR.

I'd be more worried about one of your fans that was poleaxed before the game. Looked very nasty. Hope he's OK.

There's a video showing someone - I presume the same fella - getting lumped with a brick. Either way, bet he's sore today.

Doesn't really matter, it was still hilarious seeing him sent off in the closing stages of the game for the second time running against us.

Whether he's a good keeper or not (and I'm not convinced from what I've seen of him, I'd have Eastwood over him all day every day) he's a loose cannon and a liability. Maguire can play the pantomime villain much better, and still deliver on the pitch.

Our esteemed coach/manager/dickhead actually said

'Vigoroux loses concentration when it's noisy'

You couldn't make it up!
