Maybe the unpopular opinion but I think it looks awful

Loved the 2nd one on the PS2 but I'm hearing no campaign for this? Shouldn't have expected any less from EA but that's still really disappointing.

I think that certainly will be an unpopular opinion, to me the game looks incredible. MGS V is probably the only game out there that I could say looks better in my view. The game sounds amazing as well, but then you always expect Star Wars stuff to sound great.

I like what I've seen so far, and I've still yet to do the Hoth stuff which I know is the main draw of the beta. Looking very promising!

I can't remember the two game mode names, but i'm confused how you win on the Walker map?

I'm enjoying the drop pod game mode, and prefer to play in third person

The walker one is the one I haven't done, but from my understanding:

If you're a rebel, you have to go to the objective points to get orbital strikes to hit the AT AT's, which takes down their shield and leaves them venerable to attack. You have to stop them getting to their objective.

If you're imperial, you have to just slow down the rebel scum enough so that the Walkers can reach the objective.

But like I said, I haven't actually played it, that's just my understanding.

£55 mp only games are the future. Apparently.

Played it earlier and it was pretty good, I like the ability to change between 3rd and 1st player perspectives. Though that's nothing unique.

In terms of single player modes, I genuinely don't play any FPS for the single player/story campaign, I purely play them for the multiplayer. However with a franchise like Star Wars it does feel like a missed opportunity. Although I imagine the online campaign is just as good, it's not going to be drop zone PvP and nothing else.

Played it and while it seems decent I dint think there'll be much depth to it. Not bothering to pay full price for a game with only online pvp and even later when its cheaper everyone will be good and experienced so theres no point starting out new.

Seen it for £39 online earlier.

You must troll harder next time

How is that even trolling? :dk:

EA (the publisher of the game) are asking £55 for a mp only game on Origin (their game client). And not for the first time.

Stupid question but how do you change to third person view? Tried pressing in the analogue sticks. It will be the touch screen won't it?

I love the game though so far

i kind of resent the idea that by making online multiplayer the focus of your project you're somehow creating a game that is for 'true gamers' (not that you're saying that at all, btw) when before the previous console generation the industry usually managed to cater to a variety of demographics. We've gone from an era of inclusivity to one where freezing out large sections of the community is seen as a good thing. Console exclusivity and pre-order culture are probably the two most egregious examples, but de-prioritising good design so that that money can be invested into graphics is also a big, big problem at the moment. It's so much easier to tack on a few online multiplayer modes and say it's for 'player freedom', something that 'encourages you to create your own experiences' than it is to actually design a truly open and expressive experience that is at the same time structured. CD Projekt Red did the Witcher III on a $15m budget and it looks gorgeous, has rich story missions and side quests, hundreds of interesting characters and enough varied content to keep you playing for weeks. What's more, it only spent three fucking years in development. I wonder how much time and money EA trying to make Darth Vader's helmet shine as realistically as possible.

Gorgeous visuals, and amazing sound.

Gameplay is free to play standard, didn't enjoy the gunplay whatsoever.

Played a bit of the Beta and watched some other gameplay. And I take back what I said about the game looking bad because the game looks amazing but it's not a Battlefront game. It's a Star Wars Battlefield game.

I used to love the old battlefront on the PS", I am thinking of buying a console just for this game, is it worth it?

I think it's hard to tell right now whether or not it'll be a game that makes it worth upgrading.

One the one hand, if you're a Star Wars fan, this game seems to get it absolutely right. The look, feel and sound of the game is about the best Star Wars experience I've ever had on a game.

But on the other hand... is the game a little shallow? It's hard to tell from just playing the beta. But it's unclear exactly how much will be in the game upon launch (I still get the feeling that it'll launch very bare bones, and then get absolutely padded out with DLC) or how much lifespan it'll have. It reminds me a fair bit of Titanfall and Evolve right now. Great experiences that were a whole lot of fun, but once you hit the 15-20 hour mark you find that they don't have all that much lifespan to them.

I'd say wait on reviews. Even though I had a blast with the beta, I'm still planning to wait to see what reviews say about the full game before deciding to buy it or not.

Been trying to find out is there some form of campaign modes like the previous battlefront games or is it all just online and survival modes?

Season pass already announced @ £40. Which essentially means you need to buy this game for £90+ if you actually want to play on populated servers. Think I'll give it, and EA's disgusting business model, a miss. Again.

It's multiplayer only.

If its only multiplayer I may not even buy this anymore, I used to love the single player career mode. At times I want to play games alone so wouldn't be this.

Does anyone know if I can digitally download Battlefront 1 or 2 for the PS4, from the online PlayStation store. I've looked but can't see it, and want to check if I've missed it.

Yeahhh, season pass, online only, not going to be getting this sadly, after being incredibly excited for it. Shame.

I'll get it if it ever hits a reasonable price (and people are still playing it). Shame as it's really good fun and a lot of my friends are buying it, just can't justify spending that much on a bare bones game with FO4 just round the corner. Think it'll go the same way as Titanfall sadly.
