Just read online that Bruce is set to leave, awaiting confirmation from the club.

Could be bullshit, but if it is true they have something like 13 players that are fit and no manager.

Uh oh.

Yeah, this quoting for no reason bullshit is becoming a bit boring now. Have you nothing better to do?

Sorry? I've quoted you twice to agree with you, stop being so paranoid.

Hull are clearly in a bit of a mess.

Sunderland is the obvious destination but as a bit of an outside bet the money men at Wolverhampton Wanderers might just be tempting him to lead them to the promised land

Can't see him coming back to us. Wasn't exactly a fans favourite and a lot will disgruntled if he does return.

This is like the situation Derby had with Billy Davies when they came up - and look at what happened to them that season!

Hull fans will hoping the same doesn't happen but its going to create upheaval and they will lose out on signings I suspect.

I wanted Bruce out last season, but this is certainly not what I wanted.

It was clear things weren't what they should be after the play off final. Bruce looked exhausted after the game, and said he needed time to think about his future. There are suggestions his relationship with the owners has worsened since they decided to stop involving themselves in the day-to-day running of the club and also stopped attending matches. Added to this, Bruce had a good relationship with the owner, Assem Allam, but little to no relationship with his son, Ehab, who is currently in charge while Assem recovers from a serious health issue.

Things appeared rosier when the manager came out of hiding and committed his future to the club, but has been very vocal in interviews that he was unhappy with matters off the field, largely in terms of transfers. I believe a number of Bruce's targets have been lost due to Ehab not getting things over the line. The official line from Bruce himself today is that he's at the end of his tether as more and more of his targets are lost due to the inaction of Ehab.

The fans are already in uproar over the new membership scheme (no oap, student or disabled concessions), and are also stinging from previous official attempts to rename the club and the continued stealth rebranding despite the FA saying no to their application. Expect one of two things to happen against Leicester on the opening day: either the fans will kick off with aplomb, or they simply won't turn up.

Bentos: It doesn't sound good at all what's going on at your club.. And Steve Bruce leaving so close before the season starts is another blow for the Fans. Although you stated in your post that you wanted him out last season I had always the impression that he is very popular at HCFC? These owners are not very popular with the fans?

At this stage of the summer it's a massive loss for Hull, only a few weeks from the start of the season and they have no manager and not enough players to fill a matchday squad. Can't see it being that easy for them to attract a good manager either with how distant the owners are at the minute, my early favorite for relegation. Shame we didn't do them in the play off final.

Makes sense, he's getting off that sinking ship before it goes under.

Yeah Billy Davies obviously did stay, but there was uncertainty for a large chunk of the summer before he signed a new contract. No new players came in until that was resolved, and then we just signed dross.

Feel free to break our record Hull, but I don't expect it to ever be beaten.

Confirmed. He clearly believes the Sunderland job will be far more stable, it's a fair bet that's where he's heading. And who can blame him.
Will it? Let's face it, had Sunderland enrolled any other manager than Big Sam, they would have gone down and Bruce has proved that he is very much a yo-yo manager: he knows how to earn promotion but more often than not, he gets his side relegated from the Prem.
If this does happen (pretty sure it does although I fail to see the benefit for either Bruce or Sunderland), Hull City are finishing bottom but Sunderland are strong contenders to go down with them (again!).

EDIT: he's gone. Hull City are finishing bottom.

Don't see why Sunderland would want a man they already sacked once for not being good enough.

Just been confirmed that Moyes has the Sunderland job. Bruce will have to wait til someone gets the sack and gets desperate.

Yeah, makes a bit of a mockery of it all. It's even as if the owners only wanted us to get promoted for the money...

I don't really know what to make of this, we were doomed with or without Bruce. He's been courting an exit for some time but it can't be denied he's done a decent job, two promotions and an FA Cup final are unprecedented. However, he did spend an absolute spunk bubble of money in our last season in the Prem and we were garbage, he's never been that good with a transfer kitty. Having said that, we won't get anyone better and I expect an Aston Villa style season ahead.

So Moyes at Sunderland. Not quite sure why Bruce left. Maybe he wanted some time off.

Any contenders for the job? Coz, y'know, it's so attractive! Got 3 weeks to buy 10 players, for them to gel, get the formation, motivation, tactics and atmosphere going. Piece of piss that.

Hmmm...

No, I sincerely think it would be a step up. He's not a horrible manager is Schteve. Would be a good challenge for him.

Hull have now dismissed claims McClaren has held talks and said he's not on the shortlist.

.

Fell out with the owner's son who is running the club - no money to spend and lots of off field distractions.

Bruce is very popular amongst Hull City fans, including myself. I like him very much as a person, but I felt he struggled to get the best out of a number of players last season and thought it was maybe time for a fresh approach under a new manager.

The relationship between the owners and the fans is now beyond repair. First the name change, then the membership scheme, and now this. The club has been up for sale for two years now, but still remains unsold despite reported interest on a number of occasions. Unfortunately, the hatred our fans have for Assem and Ehab Allam is mirrored by their hatred for us.

Still think Bruce will turn up at Wolves once everything has settled down regarding their takeover.

Guessing he simply left Hull because he was sick of what was going on behind the scenes which must be very worrying for Hull fans. Is there a sale of the club in the pipeline or are the current owners just making excuses (ie putting off any sale until after the transfer window) because they don't really want to sell?

Given what you get paid for being relegated now, I doubt they'd wanna sell.
