Steve Evans is pretty much a fatter, lower end version of Billy Davies.

Not sure if he would go to Rotherham but he would be a perfect replacement, he's a tosser but i'd love to see Davies back at Deepdale one day.

Oh dear Darren Ferguson shot up to 4/7 favourite with the rest miles behind.

Current odds:
Darren Ferguson 4/7
Neil Redfearn 6/1
Stuart Gray 10/1
Neil Warnock 12/1
Ian Holloway 12/1
Brian McDermott 12/1

Bookies odds generally mean nowt. If I stuck a tenner on now, he'd probably be favourite.

Danny Wilson has managed most teams in South Yorkshire, maybe Rotherham too?

Stayed off here as it's fucking boring, other forum was much busier.

I know there'd be people desperate to see what I thought...

What a sad and quite frankly ridiculous decision to let him leave, we will do no better and it just signs off our relegation (which wouldn't have happend if he stayed). There's only one reason for it and all it could possibly be and that's that Tont Stewart won't let new signings leave (agree with him), won't renew exisiting loan deals or sanction new ones, Evans said fuck it I'll leave then and Tony Stewart said no worries. Trigger for it would have been renewing Vadis' loan deal, we were paying 12k a week of his wages (massive amount for us) and Tony Stewart obviously didn't fancy it any longer. Ironically that also would have been the compromise in the situation they should have settled on, just renew Vadis' loan deal and leave everything else be (fucking good player btw too).

So now we lose our greatest ever manger (on a par with Ronnie IMO) and we'll be worse off for it. Steve Evans will succeed wherever he goes and we'll suffer from this point onwards.

Had the very best of my footballing memories because of Steve Evans and countless nights out and weekends away because of where he's took us, so I'm not affraid to say I love the man and that I'm extremely sad.

I'm also concerned about there we go from here. (It'll be Eric Black on a permanent basis so he can sack him and start again when we go down).

My pick would be Nigel Pearson, his son has been training with us for two months with Guly Do Prado (who Tony Stewart won't sign) but I know that won't happen. Failing that bring back King Ronnie.

From the third paragraph on I totally agree with you...........(for once) :emb:
I wouldn't want Ronnie back TBH he failed last time and I can't imagine TS would repeat his mistake.

Can't see us getting Pearson or any of the other ex-Prem managers (too expensive) or JFH (waiting for better options)
McDermott would probably want more than we will want to pay.

Redfearn, might be ok but would be a gamble given his lack of experience.
Holloway and Ferguson don't inspire any confidence in me.
Old players like Hurst, Wilder and Warnock ..no thanks.

Of the others, I would rather have Stuart Gray than Nigel Clough but we would have to hope he plays a more attacking style than in his time at Hillsborough.

Its all very sad really and I can't see anyone on the betting lists that I would have in front of Evans.
It's gonna be a long hard season.

What style of football does he play JP?

I'm against the managers out there that just want to route 1 it.

A coward's approach in today's evolved game.

Burton have turned down a request to speak to Hasselbaink.

Basically he doesn't want to go there, as I said earlier in the week.

Hasselbaink would be mad to leave Burton right now for Rotherham. Burton are going great, it's got to be worth seeing how far he can take them before he reviews his options to move on. Burton are also a cracking club!

With Steve Evans there's always that suspicion that you aren't seeing the full picture, that things are going on behind the scenes. You certainly get that suspicion here.

I'm sure he'll get another job at a struggling L1 club sooner than later.

Why must he be mad to leave Burton for Rotherham, personally i think he should make the move while his stock is high because it wont be long before Burton go on a bad run and start climbing down the league table, there just punching above their weight atm, we will be at least the same division has Burton next season and he would get a much higher budget to play around with then he would have at Burton.
