Good or bad news for Fleetwood?

Strange news indeed. Something amiss at Fleetwood? They seemed to do all of their transfer business early.

Good move, daft timing.

Hope they take Blackpool's manager for a laugh.

Typically poor timing but on the cards. Everyone thought it would be after last game of season. Structure with a Director of Football will always cause problems I feel though Pressley is a dreamer, dose of pragmatism needed.

Have long reached the stage where nothing surprises me. Club statement said club needed to go in another direction. Chairman had supported Pressley with numerous close season signings and those guys must wondering what the hell is going on

It might just be a very long season or..................

So, Fleetwood rush out and early on sign every average player going then he resigns. Classic. He is a terrible manager though who I think is a Walter Mitty type who thinks his team is playing like Barcelona while in reality they run around looking confused and arguing with each other.

We went from 10 at the back Graham Alexander to 4 up top Steven Pressley, and inbetween introduced a DOF transfer committe structure. Playing budgets slashed as we built a training complex, the Vardy money didnt arrive.

Could be that we are just fighting against the tide of being completely out of our depth and will fall to a more manageble level, and our next appointment will go a long way to determine that one way or another.

4 up top Steven Pressley? Are we talking about the same one?

Its easy to look back but what Alexander achieved in our 1st season in league 1 was tremendous. The team played to the managers strengths and while not pretty we got some excellent results. He was on the wrong end as budgets were cut and had to make do with signings of inexperienced players who offered potential which never materialised
Interesting times, we can take heart from having a Chairman who loves the club which is more than can be said for many other clubs around the country.

With Pressley in charge I thought Fleetwood were nailed on certainties for relegation, but now they gave a chance of survival, as long as they don't appoint that massive bellend Westley.
Rumours are that Pressley may be in with a chance at Hull, surely not , but if it happens Hull will be relegated by November.
Useless dreamer of a manager.

Good move, wrong timing, and has major rumours of problems at the club, apparently he wanted to bring in more experience (which is needed) and this was dismissed. Current squad in place is worse than last seasons shambles and wouldn't be surprised to see us struggle when the chairman want a top half finish (dreaming). Rene Muelensteen been interviewed today and is early favourite for the job.

On a side not al the technical director, transfer committee bollocks is a farce.

Any truth to these rumours, Fleetwood fans:

"OK, so I am going to word this VERY carefully for obvious reasons.
Fleetwood Town's ground, Highbury, also acts as office space for BES (their shirt sponsors) and another company whose name I am unsure of.
I know people who live near there and also people who work at the ground for BES.
BES deal in gas and electricity services.

This morning, their offices at the ground were raided by Police and Trading Standards who are still there taking piles of documents away. I do not yet have a media source to back this up, but it's true.

Andy Pilley, who has previously served a prison sentence for a dishonesty offence, owns both the club and BES and if there is a case to answer this will be significant for the future of FTFC. "

Pulled from football website this morning?

BES were fined about £1m by Ofgem last year, it's safe to say they're not a very ethical company.

Pilley's loaded though and probably has his fingers in a lot of pies, not sure if it will affect Fleetwood but could be interesting.

Reports suggest it doesnt involve the football club it does of course, however the tie between BES and Fleetwood is a grey one, unsure at this point how reliant the club is on its sponsor, and owners business.

Its a big company now by the way, incredible amounts of money. Time will tell if it has the potential to land a massive if not fatal blow to Fleetwood, and as has been pointed out, its not the first problem they have had with authority.

Not surprised he's gone. Only a matter of time. Should have gone at the end of last season.

Uwe Rosler apparently interviewed as well

50 years to the day that England won the World Cup ( how many on here saw the game or were even born ! ) and Fleetwood appoint their 1st ever German Coach

After a bad week for the club and town this good news for all Cod fans, Rosler has a 2 year contract so we could be in the Premier league by the end of it .Ok let me save some of you the effort, we could also be in non league !!
