No optimismat all for this season. The sooner we can get through these first 10 or so games, picking up not much more than a couple of points, playing dull football the better. We can the get rid of the clown in charge and attempt to start a fresh.

Our record in the first game is awful, something like 1 win in 16 years. As for are team our defence is exactlythe same one that shipped goals for fun last season, midfield is extremelyl ightweight, up top we are relying on two veterans to score the goals.

Garrett

Turton Nugent Guthrie Bakayoko

Cooper Bingham Jones Kirk

Lowe Dagnall

Subs: Richards, Davis, Ray, Ainley, Wintle, Kiwyoma, Saunders

No way SD will pick that team, Turton will probably plain midfield and his son will play.

Stevenage 3-1 Crewe (Dagnall for us) 2,766 (308 railwaymen)

Quality of our team is destined for bottom quarter of the league, but that has been expected since May, despite the club's spin.

Routine defeat. Maybe draw at best. Not going and frankly have next to no interest in the club right now.

Very thankful other commitments means I'll be missing most Crewe games this season. Share the sentiments of the 2 above, looks set to be a grim season and I have no interest in the Alex at the moment. Defeat, moving on.

Crewe fans. What's Adam King like? Could be joining from Swansea on loan

Was fairly pants from the little I saw of him. Scored a few goals but fairly lightweight. Didn't really stand out in probably the worst Crewe team I've seen.

Confident for this after an impressive pre-season was rounded off with a 4-1 win over MK Dons.

Should hopefully see Fox in at LB and have Hyde or Liburd fit to partner Godden up top, can see it ending either 1-0 or 2-0 to Boro.

I second JJ, I have other commitments this season thankfully will miss most games. I hate how our club has let us get relegated with no attempt to try and save us from relegation in the first place, some fans eating it up the "Crewe way" and some still want Davis to have another chance.

Haven't missed an opening day in many many years...

...but will be missing this one. Jumped at the chance to work rather than even waste time, money and effort going to Stevenage, a club we've never beaten before and on opening day where we rarely ever win. This is because I'm sick of Davis' favourites (Turton, Ray and Daddy's little soldier) getting chance after chance when they are incapable of performing for this football club.

Another reason is this. We're being told to back a manager who has the following records for league games in August and September as our manager when it's imperative that we NEED a good start.

August: P18 W2 D3 L13 GS18 GA42 (This includes a 12 match winless run in August dating back to 2013)
September: P21 W3 D8 L10 GS16 GA36
Overall: P39 W5 D11 L23 GS34 GA78

Other unwanted stats include: Two wins in the whole of 2016, no away win since November last year and 10 wins in our last 66 games in all competitions dating back to February 2015 (funnily enough Ollie Turton has made 68 consecutive starts with his 69th due to be tomorrow...) and a manager who oversaw our worst season since 1981-82 and the third worst season in our club's 139 year history.

Yet the absolute idiotic brainless senile board thought Davis was worthy of another chance and I refused to renew or put any further money into the club until they realise the huge mistake they've made (which they will sooner rather than later).

I love watching the Alex home and away, but this season I've ended my ST after 15 years and I will very rarely attend away games (mainly for new ground purposes). My only wish for this season is either a miracle and that the cockwomble Davis actually becomes competent in this division (lol) or, more likely given his deplorable August and September records, we sack him in a few weeks and appoint anyone other than James Collins. That's when my optimism and love for the club will return.

An acceptable season for me is comfortably surviving the abyss that is the Conference under a new manager so we can send Davis' favourites to new clubs where I'm sure they won't get the easy ride they've had for years here and we can finally rebuild our awful defence in a year's time.

Stevenage 4-0 Crewe - lots of shouts of Davis Out, a Harry Davis mistake and injury, an Ollie Turton mistake, a George Ray mistake and a penalty.

Lots of shouts of Davis out in April. Before completely backing him by buying up season tickets and lapping up the 'ambition coming out of our ears script' in May. That's showed him.

Only sold 176 tickets for this. Just shows the apathy for this club atm. 1st game of the season and nobody is bothered.

To be fair, that's still 50% of your fan base isn't it? ;) :D
