Not sure why this thread was started by a Mansfield fan, but there you go.

Luton sold out their allocation over a week ago, with over 1900 Hatters making the short 20 mile journey to Broadhall Way; a town that probably has more supporters of the away team than the home team.

We're back on track in the League; we could potentially climb up to 6th with a better goal difference than most with a win on Saturday as typically, League 2 is very tight at this time of year. 2 wins and 2 clean sheets plus progressing to the FA Cup 2nd Round came after 4 games without a win, albeit against sides we'd have expected to have beaten.

Stevenage will have been boosted by the signing of Jamille Matt this week, alongside Armand Gnanduillet who will provide physical presence up front. With Dean Wells and Fraser Franks also threats from set pieces; dealing with height something Luton haven't done particularly well this season, the Hatters will need to be on their guard.

Craig Mackail-Smith could well be involved tomorrow, however Nathan Doyle and Pelly Ruddock remain sidelined.

Thanks StagsForLife.

I really hope we carry on the positive performance from last week against Barnet into this game, last week was probably as good as I've seen us play in a long while really and perhaps this mythical "clicking" is finally taking place.

I'd keep the team the same as last week, it's a bit of an odd shape granted with McGeehan wide but seems to work well and I want to see McQuoid up front with Benson again who i thought where excellent last week.

Think whatever edge that this game used to have has gone a bit now Westley isn't there anymore and I'd hope that Still would be able to outwit a rookie manager like Sherringham so for actually fairly confident we can win here. (Cue 3-0 defeat!).

Really have to be alert at set pieces today; not convinced we'll keep a clean sheet. Fancy today's line up to be:

Isn't Gnanduillet the lanky one who was on loan with..someone..last year and kicked off with the fans in the main stand? He was beyond awful.

We should win this, however our performances are fairly erratic. I do worry about us aerially now Sumo has gone. However I think continuity is the key here and we should be sticking with the same side. McQuiod looks so much better through the middle, don't stick him out wide again. And lawless may as well continue at Right Back for the forseeable. Bring Marriott on when needed to run at their knackered carthorses at CB.

3-1 Luton

Well the first half, bar the last 15 minutes when Luton managed to get a foothold on the game was a non-event really. Close to HT, somehow Day and the Stevenage defence managed to keep out a number of chances. The second half we absolutely battered them. Danny Green hit the bar from a fantastic free kick and close to the end Josh McQuoid flicked a header, also onto the bar.

It was back to old style Stevenage today - physicality; trying to win every inch, use every advantage. They tried to do a job on us. The big centre forward was causing all sorts of problems but never created any massive opportunities for himself.

Can't agree that we "battered them" at all, I thought we were poor. Edged it overall, but still poor and didn't create nearly enough. The Benson chance (never fancied him to score at all, dunno what has happened to him in the last 12 months but he looks lost in terms of goal threat) and the Green free kick both came from awful Stevenage defending. The McQuoid one was the best chance we created off our own backs.

Bit of a nothing game really, two poor sides and very little football played. Never felt like they would score but also felt we lacked a lot going forwards. Draw about right.

Sending off looked right from where I was sat, no complaints about that one. Reckless at best but Benson has put a few tackles like that in during the past 12 months so I think he has a bit of a naughty streak, he's got away with them until now but I'd be amazed if we got that one overturned on appeal despite Still's anger at the decision.

Says it all that the mini scuffles in the corner were the most interesting talking point of the game. Not one to condone pitch invasions, but the Luton fan in the home end was getting the absolute shit kicked out of him by four or five blokes with a steward stood right next to them doing absolutely nothing to intervene.

-30 point deduction for invading the pitch then??

(Not your usual Urban-Luton bashing comment, sorry to disappoint). You lot play worse than last week?

Them blokes who did the bullying of the one lad on his own had their arses served to them later on. All is well.

On the pitch - should have won today. Better side definitely.

There was one moment in yesterday's game that would've been the best goal I've seen in many seasons if it had gone in. Olly Lee did a brilliant turn through two players, Ronaldinho-esqe and attempted to lob it over Chris Day into the net with the outside of his boot; the keeper managing to palm it away.

From the "lowlights' can't see why there are any complaints about the Benson red. Cleaned him out and certain red in today's game - prob even in days gone by tbh. Will get a frivolous appeal extra game ban if we contest that one.

We have always had our nutter stupid brigade. If they went in to the rescue one of ours I'm okish with it, but I imagine that was just an excuse at best.

That is genuinely what happened pal, lad was getting a shoe in on the floor from about 4/5 fully grown blokes. Stewards and OB just stood and watched.

The game was so poor, Luton edged it, we were utter crap again but Luton not much better. I missed all the excitement of the 7 man pitch invasion, decided that going to the pub was more productive than the feast of shite served up at The Lamex. In a nutshell both clubs have a relative handful of mongs who have overdosed on Danny Dyer Documentaries and think that wearing an Ellesse trackie makes them a right geeza. Our lot went very quiet down at Orient earlier in the season, think the accents may have scared them, everyone sounded like their hero Dyer you see, think they soiled their Lois Jumbo cords that night. In the main I think its quite a good local rivalry, just a few twats who only turn up for certain games of the seaon in the hope of an "off". :ffs:
