4-3 win, scoreline makes the game seem closer than it was. Only one side in it first half, but thanks to two saved penalties we only went in 2-1 up. Second half started in much the same vein with Whelpdale notching twice to complete his hat-trick. Not a great deal happened prior to the third penalty of the game, which Morecambe scored to make it 4-2, the final 10 minutes made for less comfortable viewing as Morecambe pressed for a third, fortunately when it did arrive the referee immediately blew up for full time!
Whelpdale the star of the show, the only blot on his copybook was his missed penalty, more than made up for it with his hat-trick though. Ellison was Morecambe's most effective player, two great strikes and won the penalty that Mullin converted. Up to 18th, makes a change, we've been stuck in 20th for a couple of months!.
