McCall did a great job at Motherwell in all fairness, but that is slightly different to managing Bradford City looking for a promotion. Not sure this will work out and think he's been chosen mainly on sentiment, Rosler would have been a better option in my opinion.

Agreed and i'm far from confident with underwhelming appointment, on a plus side though all of us City fans will back him all the way.

Is McCall really any better than Parkinson? I'd be surprised if he got you over the line tbh.

McCall is a much more positive style of manager than Parkinson. Hopefully this means we won't have as much trouble signing attacking players and won't have a shit right back playing right midfield anymore.

This is true but last seasons limited squad capabilities required the defensive approach, so hopefully with the right squad additions this can be altered.

We could have easily played two wingers most of the season. That approach ultimately made us predictable and in key games saw Reid doubled up and out of the game. All we could do is huff and puff and hoof.

Ha, but not Conlon.

What are the chances of Nicky Law though?

Is he actually any good though? I know he was great for us when we were languishing at the bottom of league 2 but we're a much better team now. I think he was fairly solid for Rotherham in league 1 but I'm not sure he's anything to be too excited about, especially if we're hoping to push on for promotion.

I think he's been highly rated everywhere. Didn't work out at Rangers but fans still seem to have liked him. I think he'd be a solid signing.

26 goals from midfield in just over 100 games. Ain't bad, but the level of football may have something to do with that.

I'd certainly welcome Nicky Law back.

If Stuart McCall wasn't a Bradford legend I bet your fans would be going mental at him being appointed over Rosler. Whoever is charge of the decision has used their heart over their head (probably to try and get fans onside) and for me it's a mistake. Will await and see if McCall proves me wrong. Absolute minimum expectation for Bradford has to be playoffs.

You are probably right, if another manager had come in with his record there would be more negativity there is still quite a lot though on social media and other forums. But most of us will give any city boss a chance, as far as i'm concerned this is a fresh slate from his last spell. Should we be around the bottom near christmas then he will probarbly be sacked.

Though Parkinson did a very good job with us he wasn't without his faults, most fans who came to Valley Parade last season would admit how horrific our style of play was. This is probably this biggest reason that most of us are not to bothered that he left, I have no doubt out football will improve but will this bring us the results we need? Not sure Barsnley were a far better footballing side than us last season yet we ended the season above them, for his faults Parkinson knew how to grind out results.

But without our 3-4 key loanees last season even with Parkinson we may have being the wrong end of the table, as before they came in we were struggling and got of to a horrendus start. Hard to see us making the playoffs with replacing these tbh hope we do though.

Gary Caldwell didn't do to bad for you either, and he had no management experience. I am more concerned which players we bring in as that will have more impact on where we end, than who is our manager in my opinion.

The problem with Stuart when he was here before was you didn't know if we were going to win 3-0 or lose 3-0 in any given game. His signings were players who you'd say were more than decent for League Two but he just picked a team and let them play at times. There was no real cohesion or style of play. I don't know if he's improved this in Scotland but I'm not optimistic. What does he know about League One at the moment too? Probably not much.

I'm gutted about Parkinson leaving as yes the football was naff sometimes but you always knew you probably weren't going to concede many and you would probably grind out a result, his style offers that stability. With the new owners and us having about 7 players on the books he would have been a good anchor. McCall is the opposite and probably one of the worst appointments considering the names that were mentioned, don't get it really.

McCall expected to be announced today according to local reporter.
I'm sure he'll get everyone's support but don't think many people are over thrilled with the appointment . I'm happy to be proved wrong but I don't see any evidence of him been the manager we need at the minute.

My thoughts exactly.

Biggest worry is clubs seem to be already signing decent players for this league, we're a few weeks behind in the recruitment I think.
