This has been tweaked tonight, rightly reducing the number of ads to registered users.

We have also removed a couple for all usergroups, including guests.

Will keep adjusting over the next few days to try and get the balance right for user experience & the reason why they are there.

Really? Still 6 on the front page of L1 and 7 when logged out. That's not much of a reduction.

Most of our revenue is generated via guests, and we also want them to sign up directly as a result of an ad reduction; and it's working. So thanks for the feedback, as always, but we'll be roughly keeping the same layout for guests.

Will monitor other usergroups, and we also want to reduce ads even further for established members.

Cheers,
TB

My point was that there was minimal reduction for site members over guests. The stated 50% is not currently the case. As per my previous post, registered members are seeing 86% of the ads that guests are.

Nope, that's not the case. The site has more than 1 page so don't base your numbers like it does. We are always going display an increase on the most utilised pages- it's just common sense to do that.

Irrespective, thanks for your comments but we've got in under control with further tweaks due. Further feedback isn't necessary as it's not yet the finished article.

Okay, let me know when you're done and I'll disable my adblocker.

So I see that the last post about this was locked which I guess shows not much has changed around here.

Despite that though I thought it was worth posting about my recent experiences of using the site. I don't post here anymore and I thought I'd d got out of the habit of even viewing it. I still like to see the odd football opinion though and so like any addiction I found myself tapping this URL back into my search bar.

I have definitely noticed an increase in the amount of spammy adverts. You literally can't scroll down without an advert intruding on your vision. Eight adverts in one page on my last count. It actually put me off of coming back and I do now look elsewhere for footballing opinions.

Effictively if nothing else you are putting the site behind a paywall. Weird.

The site looks like an advert ridden mess. It's a shame that you've turned it into this.

Thanks for your feedback. Keep an eye out as we are still making changes.

Admittedly you are one of the more irritating members around here.

The other ads thread has been locked, the opinions about how shit the site looks these days with the stupid amount of adverts, particularly on mobile phones, probably didn't go down well.

That and the lack of activity is certainly the reason I barely frequent this place anymore. If you want this place to pick back up again, take it from me its the first thing you need to sort. On my mobile phone, even as a member, around 80% of the opening page is taken up by advert banners. Ridiculous.

I, for one, believe the admin on here should take Pagnell's advice on how to properly run a football forum.

Forums doing fine, not sure where you're seeing lack of activity, perhaps in your head.

We have contracts with a number of advertisers which don't expire until mid August. After this period, ad reduction will be visible as we begin to push our own project; http://topbettingoffers.co.uk.

Sit tight, thread locked.
