Head-to-head

  • Sunderland have won two of the last three meetings.
  • The Black Cats are looking to complete a first league double over the Eagles since 1995-96, when both clubs were in the second tier.

  • They have conceded a league-high nine goals in the opening 15 minutes of matches.
Crystal Palace

  • Palace are winless in 10 games, the longest current such run in the division (D3, L7).
  • They were fifth in the league table prior to their winless spell. They are now 14th.
  • The Eagles have not kept a clean sheet in eight league matches in 2016, conceding 19 goals in the process.

If they lose, would Palace be considered as relegation contenders? Whilst they won't go down, their form has been absolutely rotten for the last couple of months and whilst the teams below them are pretty gash, they must be looking over their shoulders a tad nervously. Sunderland will be well up for it and will have to win games like this one to have a chance of staying up.

We're already contenders.

Our only saving grace is Bolaise coming back and adding some much needed balance to the side. Lose tonight and alarm bells start ringing big time.

I think Sunderland have been decent lately, certainly not pushovers like they were at the start of the season. I reckon they'll get a win.
With Bolasie back though Palace will be a far better side on the attack. But I never fancy their strikers to score.

Great goal by Borini, who'd even think of shooting from there?
