A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
Swans celebrating the extension of Guidolin's contract, City needing something to secure 4th.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Somehow, I'm convinced City are going to screw this up.

City will probably manufacture a draw to perpetuate the TYPICAL CITY™ crap their fans like to cling on to.

What a disgrace to football Swansea are. Resting players in a key game for a tournament that doesn't start for 3+ weeks

City score a dodgy offside goal then Swansea have a perfectly good goal disallowed.

Noticable lack of silkyman moaning

Not offside....swansea player on the floor playing everyone on. But i think the push wasn't really. Should be 1-1. Only advantage of the swans playing some reserves is their playing for new contracts.

Phew. Job just about done. Should have been much more comfortable. Every chance they fluffed made it seem more certain that Swans would get a winner.

Pretty disappointing season. Roll on the Era of Pep!

Can I just ask, as it seems to be the reason for Citys failure this season, where were City in the table when it was announced that Pep would be taking over?

They were second at the start of February, three points behind Leicester.

Pellegrini is certainly using the announcement as an excuse now he is out of the door...

"Yet Pellegrini, while suggesting his side had been the best in the country in his three years in charge, sounded frustrated that his planned final charge had fallen flat.

'One of the most difficult things to finish this season was after they announced this club will change (manager) next season, was the atmosphere inside the team,' Pellegrini said.

'Of course, it is not easy when you are at that moment involved in all competitions for the players to read every day that '11 players will go out, these are coming, these are finished''.

'I wanted to finish winning the Premier League. The atmosphere from February when they announced the club was starting a new process next season, maybe it wasn't the best atmosphere," Pellegrini added.

'Everyone was accepting what would happen in the future and we lost two very important games at home.'"

The timing fits but I don't think it made that much of an impact. MP knew Pep was coming in (Hell, he probably knew the deal when he signed his first contract) and the players will have known too. Everyone knowing the lie of the land wouldn't have been much different to the constant speculation and questioning that would have happened otherwise. One of the reasons it was announced was at Pellegrini's request because he didn't want to keep fielding the same questions about his future time and again.

In the month after the announcement they beat Sunderland the day after, then lost to Leicester and Spurs so it's hard to say if that was player apathy or just playing two form sides. Then it was the Chelsea FA Cup game before a great CL performance against Kiev and winning the League Cup.

By then it was pretty clear the League was gone so perhaps the hunger evaporated a bit. It might have been a factor in a drop off, but not the be all and end all. There were still all the injuries here and there and the feeling that games were dead rubbers - until the top four place came under threat.

Guardiola had the same situation and it didn't stop them pissing the league and getting to the cup final.
