Two form teams going at it here. A laughable statement a few weeks ago.

We've improved and have started to score freely but still give away goals for fun while Barnsley are looking for 6 wins on the bounce. Surely one to stick on the BTTS coupon.

Probably the same line up as last week:

Vigouroux

Barry
Branco
Turnbull
BOO

Rodgers
Kasim
Doughty
Robert

Obika
Ajose

2-2 draw.

I wouldn't have thought twice about going a few weeks ago but I'll be spending tomorrow in Swindon. Despite 5 wins on the bounce I'd take a draw I think. 6 in a row would be ridiculous considering the state of us before Christmas. Plus we always seem to be shite at your gaff.

You'll be pleased to hear we're missing Adam Hammill, Aidy White and Alfie Mawson through injury. We did manage to beat Bradford on Tuesday without them but I'd be more confident with them in the team Saturday. A draw may well be on the cards.

I'm going to the Cadbury factory instead. Would be happy with a point from this.

That was a bad game of football devoid of any real quality.

Barnsley took the chance when it came and got the points. If that was a boxing match I probably would have said Barnsley shaded it on points but in football terms neither side was great.

Ah well, I come back to the County Ground after a long absence and we are still crap!

Last season tbf. Before that, Christ knows. Think this is our 4th away win on the spin as well, I'd like to know the last time we managed that.

Terrific 3 points. Agree with the Swindon fan above me, a match lacking in quality and one that ultimately could have gone either way. I feared the worst after the chances we squandered in the first half and the amount of possession the home side had toward the end. But, Winnall popped up with a goal out of nothing, a noisy away end exploded and I went home absolutely fecking delighted.
Williams, Bree, Mawson, Isgrove fantastic for us, another clean sheet and another goal for Winnall. Just hope to God he's still here on Tuesday morning.

Thought Swindon tried playing the right way but were sluggish compared to last season, when they took the piss out of us in both games. Definitely missing the likes of Byrne/Gladwin/Luongo, though that goes without saying.

Very good summation Jamo. Definitely think we lack urgency and an injection of pace to our game. We created one clear chance where your keeper did very well when Ajose tried to go around him in the first half and then in the second half beat away a rasping Obika shot but apart from that we never looked dangerous.

You got more crosses in, most were well dealt with but the one that mattered fell (fortunately I think via a deflection) and Winnall finished confidently.

As you say replacing Luongo, Byrne and Gladwin is a tough ask, Doughty on loan (14) looked good but was quite lucky not to have been sent off. Fair play to Barnsley (when he tripped someone in the second half having been booked in the first) for not making a big deal to try and get him sent off, a lot of other teams definitely would have.

Good luck for the rest of the season tykes fans.

Agree with that. There was definitely a lack of urgency, in the corresponding fixture last season you were playing lovely football AND piling forward at every opportunity and we couldn't cope. Like Bradford on Tuesday you had loads of possession but ultimately created very little and looked happy to just coast by until the last 15 minutes, while we should have buried the several decent chances we got in the first half through some lax defending.
Re. the potential sending off if done by the book he probably should have gone but I know lots of times they're given one last chance unless it's an obviously horrendous challenge, which it wasn't.

Good luck to you lot as well, you've definitely still got a good team at this level but it needs to up the pace in games like yesterday.
