22 games to go until this nightmare ends.

Don't give a toss about the team selection, the performance or result, but for some reason I'm going anyway.

The board have waved the white flag by not funding any more loanees, not that I blame them. The manager has waved the white flag by basically saying the club are making plans for how to ensure they stay in the football league. He'll go defensive and we'll lose this one heavily, as we always do against Swindon at the County Ground.

Defeat, by 3 goals or more.

68 more games left in the Football League unless Bowler, Hassall and co get abducted by aliens and Steve Davis gets taken away by the men in white coats. (Not gonna happen)

Enjoy the three points Swindon.

It is the most grim fixture on anyone's calendar, win or lose

But not as grim as going to Gillingham, the town with nothing going for it!!!!
Apart from having a better football team and not having shitloads of roundabouts

As much as I would like to see this, the Swine are in better form and will probably win to nil.

I love these comments from fellow league 1 fans about visiting Swindon, as if their home town is some kind of gleaming metropolis.

Let's face it, the vast majority of towns and cities represented in league 1 are utter shitholes (I include Swindon in this BTW) so to have fans from the likes of Port Vale and Gillingham making these kind of comments is pretty laughable.

Anyway, onto Saturday, we should win but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't. Crap at the back and potent up front, could be another high scoring affair.

You do realise we hate coming to Swindon because we get our arses spanked each and every time right? Genuinely think we haven't scored a goal in open play in Swindon since 2002 though I could be wrong! I actually love coming that part of the country (lots of nice places in the surrounding towns) you can't beat Arkell's Ales and if we were a competitive side I'd be coming yet again on Saturday!

There are a lot of places worse than Swindon in League One though. I'd say in the league awayday wise it's one of the better ones. Shrewsbury, Peterborough and Southend (a lot nicer than Crackpool) for me would be my Top 3, which sums up the state of this league!

As for the match I'm backing Obika and Ajose to do the business again in a 3-1 win.

First game since Peterborough so looking forward to it.

AS, I don't think the comments are just about Swindon as a town.
As you say, Gillingham is not exactly Trip Advisor's number 1 recommended place for a cultural visit.
As Gills fans though we tend to look at Swindon as a horrible fixture because we are likely to get spat at and have rocks thrown at us for a couple of hours by 16 year old Wiltshire Ultras.
Anyway, I reckon Crewe may get something from this, thus buying Mr Davis yet another stay of execution.

Yeah I recognise the difference in the comments from the Crewe fans. Hadn't realised your record was so bad at the CG!!

Hope you enjoy your trip to Wiltshire but your football team goes home pointless again!!

If only that execution was forthcoming. I think we've all realised results are of little importance. Davis has the safest job in the league.

I would never ever defend any human who would treat a fellow football fan that way just because of the team he supports, I hate that element of rivalry, for me it's unnecessary and unforgivable behaviour and I'm sorry you've had to tolerate it. We do have some morons supporting the club, as do all teams unfortunately.

I think I said this before but last season I sat and had a perfectly good football based chat with a Gills fan in the pub prior to you dicking us at the CG midweek, I don't get this moronic behaviour that some seem
to seem acceptable.

Anyway, back to the football, 3-2 home win is my prediction.

I think that's very harsh on the towns of league one.
Most are pretty good,I'd say,but then again I'm someone that takes in the history and feel of a place, because I love my country.
Not too sure why Swindon seems to have a bit of a negative image in general (aside from football) but it's all about perspective I suppose.

Credit to JJ and any other die hard soul for making the journey to this one. We're completely shit anyway but the fact we always get tanked at Swindon makes this game avoidable by all accounts. Haven't travelled away since Blackpool and I'm still suffering from the mental trauma that day left me in.

Not even arsed about the score. The fact that come 5 pm on Saturday afternoon we have one less game to play in this nightmare season makes me happy enough.

Used to go every home and away without fail and like 123 I haven't been an away game since Blackpool. Used to love waking up on Saturdays and travelling the country but the lack of ambition, Steve Davis and some of these half-arsed and incompetent players have put me off parting with my cash.

Probably end up going Bury and Rochdale because they're home games for me, depends how we do against Swindon and Wigan first.

Just walked the dogs and the canal is frozen - fucking freezing here. Longjohns tomorrow otherwise I'll need WD40 to extract me bollocks from that comfy plastic seat.

Perversely, looking forward to more comical defending from us - it's pure genius how we manage to fuck up in ever increasingly laughable ways.

Looking forward to a 50 pass combo that goes on for so long, boring the pants off even the players, ending in a horrendous sliced hack into our own net.

what are the chances of a p-p

if it does go ahead I'm guessing a 4-0 defeat. I've never actually seen us lose at Swindon. free both times I want 0-0 and 1-1.

Hasn't been any mention of a pitch inspection or anything yet so assume it will be on.

Thought Town might lose here. Defence STILL needs sorting out. It's no good having to outscore the opposition every week.
