Our customary 3 points in this fixture hit the rails last season with a draw and I witnessed the most disgusting individual 'performance' by Vale's No.9 - Ukpezstgh - or something like that.

No doubt this time round we'll have to put up with Johnny Foreigner histrionics v good old British gamesmanship.

Never liked Vale - or Stoke for that matter - since some lowlife smashed my car windows after we stopped there for a curry after another foray into some dingy northern outpost. Fucking cold drive home.

Anyway, Saturday. Don't know if any of our multitude of injured players will be back but I've a sneaky suspicion we'll unleash the Irish Messi upon them.

See if any of their mercenaries can get close enough to hack him down.

Although Swindon has never been a happy hunting ground for us, I have a feeling that we may pick up some points in this game.

Not sure how many yet, three would be very nice but I would settle for a point. The main thing for us it to keep another clean sheet and see where it takes us come 5 o'clock on Saturday.

I suspect Rigino Cicilia will be back in the squad and Kjell Knopps who was taken off in the second half against Rochdale will be back in the left back position.

I assume that Bruno will keep a similar starting line up as he has for the last two games as long as we have no injuries. Keep it tight first half then bring the likes of De Freitas, Pereira and Jones for a 2nd half onslaught, like we did against Southend and Rochdale.

..................Alnwick
Purkiss Streete Smith Knopps
...................Grant
..............Tavares Foley
Hooper........................Thomas
..................Forrester

Overall I'm going for a 1-0 win for Vale.

Interesting only 2 foreigners in that starting line up, yet I thought you signed about 8 or so?

Vale have started the season well so I think it's a tough test. Would love to see Jordan Stewart start the game, but of course fully dependent on injuries as we currently don't have a target man on the pitch which means no direct outball if the defence and keeper are pressed hard.

1-1

1-1

Only 2 have started last game Knops and Tavares (both been class to be fair).

We use the spine from last season and have our wonder kid at the back in Nathan Smith who has formed so far a solid partnership with the similarly young Remie Streete who seems to have improved on last season.

De Freitas may come in after a decent cameo but with Cicilia injured it will be Forester and either Hooper or the impressive Alex Jones so wont be very foreign at all... maybe even less foreign than Swindon.

Bruno seems to be playing in sensible and integrating them slowly rather than throwing 7 or 8 in the line up from the start.

If we can defend as well as we have been then we should get a decent result (draw would be ok) but worry we are due a shocker and over the years have generally saved our shockers for Swindon Away!

A rare 0-0 at The County Ground.

Despite our great start to the season and the fact I much prefer to stay positive about things, I just can't see anything other than our 'foreign legion' returning from Swindon with bugger all. Doesn't seem to matter what personnel we have in the squad, Vale teams just don't like to play at The County Ground.

I'm hopeful that our newfound resilient defence will continue its fine form and manage to nick a point in a 0-0 draw but I suspect it is more likely that we face our first defeat of the season by the odd goal, leaving Indian Dan spending his Saturday night wanking into his Swindon scarf because 'Swindon have done it for Britain' :D

Scarf? Fuck me, I haven't had one of them since God was a boy - don't do wanky replica shirts, either.

I'm pretty circumspect about results these days, so come win, lose or draw, I don't really give a fuck.

Don't get me wrong, though, I'd love us to fuck you lot in the ear!

So a Vale and a Stoke fan trashed your car?

Fucking hate Swindon, for no other reason than they always give us a reach around on their own turf before sending us home feeling sodomized. If we don't concede and come away with something on Saturday then I think it could well be a very interesting season! I don't see us scoring more than one goal away from home at the moment so we'll have our work cut out to get three points, though I'd take a point all day long.

One thing I will say is that Bruno, our manager, has impressed me massively so far. He knows how to set up a side and just got about his job quietly and unassumingly. A few losses on the bounce though and I'll no doubt be calling for his testicle sack, such fickle fans we all can be!

Bruno has been decent so far... Impressed with his professionalism over the Purkiss incident (be it being late or the rumoured bust up which led to Saleiro going)

Weather supposed to be gash on Saturday unfortunately. We never seem to play well when it's windy, even though we try and keep the ball on the ground as much as possible!!

Doubt we'll get Keshi Anderson in before the deadline today so hopefully Norris is back from injury so we have an 'outball'.

Hope you have a safe journey down and enjoy your day up to 3pm Vale fans!

Weather probably wont suit us if pitch is heavy either... the total football special on offer between us wont happen :(

I doubt the pitch will be heavy. We have very good drainage etc so think the pitch will be fast and slick.

If you got a heavy pitch mid-august after one day of rain your groundsman needs his P45

I very much fucking doubt it!
Feel free to offer some sort of explanation to that response. Let's open some dialogue so that we can enjoy a good old fashioned debate

The pitch will be like a bowling green, our team may not be the best but the Pitch is always top class all season. I think we could surprise a few this season despite all the negativity, i am going for a 2 -1 win in front of 7,800

Good good, we need it for our pretty triangles 18 yards from our own goal line!

Looks like Knops should be fit which is a huge boost... a side note to our 3 clean sheets it is worth noting this was achieved with players out of position in the back 4 (had 4 centre halves as the back four last weekend!) Jerome Thomas to miss out is a shame but gives De Freitas a chance (unless he goes for Alex Jones after his crazy ten minute debut on Tuesday night)

This will be the first time in years I'll be missing this fixture due to some tossy do I've got go to.
I've seen some utter bilge from vale at that ground usually made up for with a good session at the gluepot.
So we will win.
We're certainly due.
