For the first time this season, I'm also expecting a win. Fuck knows why?

I read an article on BBC that has Swindon struggling to put 11 on the pitch at the moment. Is that true?!

10 first teamers out either injured (most), suspended or on international duty.

Just turn up and you'll get 3 points - in fact, you may not even have to turn up to win. A selection of Posh fans could get the job done.

The signings of El-abd and Gladwin could well be the shot in the arm we need.

But I doubt it. Away win.

6 defeats in 7. This season is starting to feel a lot like 2010/11 and we all know how that ended. Something has to change.

Wow. You aspire to be bottom of the Championship. And here's me thinking you were heading to the Champions League in 3 years (according to OTIB).

You're just trying to make yourself feel better cos you know you're as shite in the Championship as we are in L1.

At least we have an excuse with 10 first teamers out. What's yours?

I'm as pessimistic as they come, but even I don't aspire for my club to be bottom of the Championship, or expect us to be there come May.

I'd be lying if I said I'm not getting some satisfaction out of Swindon's mis-fortunes this season, but then again, if the boot was on the other foot I'm sure your fan base would be laughing it up just the same.

I'm not the one who needs to come up with the excuses - Cotterill needs to do that, but that another debate for another day.

The boot IS on the other foot - you are bottom of the league FFS.

Yes, in the league that some of your fans cried on the tele because you didn't get into.

Oh not this boring shit again.
Oh I do miss the L1 section, it's far more eventful than upstairs.

At least there is light at the end of the tunnel when the inevitable comes.

But we haven't got the richest owner in the Championship with a shiny new stadium in the offing and are STILL bottom of the league.

On a serious note, though, the gap between L1 and the Championship looks bigger than the one between the Champ and Prem.

TBH, I would have never envisaged all 3 promoted teams to be quite so poor in the Champ.

We haven't got the richest chairman in the Championship - but there you go.

The gulf in the two leagues is ridiculous, and I don't think it was under-anticipated by the club, they just made an absolute pig's ear of the summer.

Come May, I'd be astounded if us 3 were still there together - I think there are worse teams.

Anyway, for clubs like Walsall and Burton who could potentially be on their way up, it'd be interesting to see if they can compete without millions of pounds to chuck around - because as I've said before, the Championship is effectively the Premier League Mark II.

Yeah that away crowds thread on here is probably the most cringeworthy thing on the internet!

The way we are playing this season, we could be saying hello to the league 2 forum, which would have the advantage of more southern opposition, but not a lot else!

Simon Cox is a shrewd signing, rivals or not, I hope he does well for you, have a lot of time for him.

El abd looked decent yesterday, chances we may sign him permanently? What's his contract situation like.

I don't really understand your lot this season - despite selling a mass of key players, Gladwin, Luongo, Smith, Foderingham (free?), you've made some very astute signings at this level, Ajose is proven, Wes Thomas is an experienced goal scorer, Vigoroux looks a top shot-stopper etc, maybe it's just going to take a while to gel. It reminds me a little bit of our 2013/14 season, whereby we had the players, but they took at least half the season to gel into a team. I think you'll be fine - comfortably midtable by the end of the season.

Aye, I'm not too sure about Cox, decent record for you lot though, I'm willing to give the bloke a chance, and wish for him to succeed. As for El-Abd, he was made available for transfer in the summer I believe, so I don't see why not. He played in a really poor side with little to none midfield protection in the 2013/14 season, and got wrote off by some of our fans after 3 or 4 games, and after that he just looked shot to bits for confidence. There's a good player in there - maybe with disciplinary issues on the pitch, but he didn't have that prolonged stint at Brighton through being a bad player. I'd imagine he'd be available for next to nothing, and I doubt he'd be demanding anything out of the ordinary at L1 level.

Genuinely wish the best for the bloke, just a shame it didn't work out for him here.

El-Abd was class. I'd forgotten what it's like to watch a seasoned centre half with bundles of experience. Even looked composed passing the ball out of defence, along with a few diagonals out to the flanks, which I really didn't expect. At times he just got rid though, which was somehow refreshing to watch.

Still think we'll get better as the season progresses, the only issue is we may be left trying to close a gap in 6 weeks time when the majority should be back to fitness. Guess it depends on how badly the mood deteriorates over the next few games as to how our season shapes up.
