Nice to see so many people underestimate us again this season.
Only because it appears to me you have lost quite a few and Im not sure about the quality of replacement

We've lost 5 really;- Gordon, kay, Brough, and the 2 loanees;- McClelland and Neal.
Worrall is more than a replacement for Kay. Neal has been replaced by Dean Campbell who is a heck of a player. Gordon and Waters were our only real strikers last season (Bennett got injured pre-season) - we now have Procter, Duffus and the new guy who are all taller and more physical than those who have gone. Brough we have replaced by 2 young athletic and quick left backs. The only one we have not really replaced (yet) is McClelland.... in summary in midfield and forward we are much stronger and have greater depth than before. We just need an extra centre half.

Obviously all the normal caveats as I don't really have a clue about all of your preseason building. I think most are under estimating us. (but then I would wouldnt I)

Yeah, pretty certain we won't see a repeat of last year. Nine players in, most of whom are a step up on paper over what they're replacing. Building towards a particular playing system too. No idea how high it'll get us but for the first season in a long time I don't think we'll be worrying the relegation places.

Think you’ve very much got rose tinted glasses on when it comes to your recruitment.

You’ll be fine though and finish lower mid-table because you’ve got Wild.

What’s this playing system you’re building towards?

Reaves looks a decent get but no one else you’ve brought in has excelled at this level which would be a major worry for me. I see a lot of players I’d have expected to join NL clubs.

The only thing for certain with us next season is that our manager Johnny Jackson will be gone if we don't hit the ground running next season. He will get 10 game's .

23 guys have so far offered a prediction for end-of-season league table.
All 23 have predicted that Stockport & Wrexham will be in the mix next May > 20 votes that Stockport are auto-promoted with 15 for Wrexham.
6 teams nominated to win Championship > Stockport, Wrexham, MK Dons, Bradford, Gillingham & Notts Co.
15 teams have had support for either auto-promotion (9) while the rest (6) will end up in play-offs.

Be interesting to watch developments throughout the season.

Salford getting that many votes for play-offs but no auto is pretty astounding.

Pretty leftfield looking shouts for Sutton and Wimbledon. Anything more in them?

Anything is possible in this league. Would anyone have predicted the 4 teams to go up last season. I doubt it with the exception of Northampton possibly who were very unfortunate not to go up the season before.

Stockport County.
It's a source of debate in our fanbase and 99% are well behind him. I like him, done a great job with us but a bit of a lack of Plan B for me if I was to offer a criticism.

No chance. Gone by Christmas when they're languishing in 5th place, 6 points off 3rd.
I'd take that position at Christmas. We always win our promotions by building momentum and strong second halves of season. And with a few injured players returning a few months into the season, that position would spell trouble for the top 3.

We won't shy away from expectation at this club. If people want to put us up there, that is up to them.

Don't worry, the best managers don't need a plan B!

Didn't need one in the NL but I just felt it became needed more on occasions in L2. This has been alluded to by our DOF but he said it was probably a different player needed for these occasions Probably why we went for someone like Powell.

From what I can see it's nothing revolutionary - basic 4-4-2 with the midfield changing shape to defend but two wingers and an advanced midfielder when we go forward. One striker as a bit of a battering ram, the other a goalscorer. The sort of system that Division 4 footballers can understand. I certainly don't think we'll be setting any pace this season but just that we'll be better than last with a deeper squad. Transfer dealings have generally been shambolic in the last couple of years with over-reliance on loans, an inability to show the chronically injured or underperforming the door and being seen by agents as a soft touch. So even an average transfer window is a huge step up, mostly thanks to finally getting in a head of football operations who knows what they're doing. And what seems to be a competent physio this season too which will help. The off-pitch planning seems to be going in the right direction but whether Johnnie Jackson is the man to deliver the end product is very much an open question still.

There seems to be quite a consensus that Harrogate, Morecambe, Crawley (and to a lesser extent Newport) are really going to struggle.

Teams above are forecast in bottom 2 spots that more-or-less confirms your post.

Stevenage and Carlisle I’ll give you, but think most on here thought Orient would be top seven at least.

On paper this looks like the most competitive/difficult league 2 in ages. I had a quick look at doing this yesterday and I had to give up. I've got an idea of who I think is going to be bottom and one of the automatic places, but as for the rest, it's tricky. I'm going to wait until the very last minute I think as I reckon there could be some more good signings to come. (We've only brought in 2 so far for example)

Exactly my feelings too, I was gonna have a go at it but it’s ridiculously tough to call this year.
Ourselves I see us finishing anywhere from about 5th - 15th but haven’t got a clue where abouts.

Me too. Now that Rovers have got the Bristow money, believe we will bring in a couple who are decent at this level and expecting other clubs like Swindon to do the same.

Anybody who finishes below us are in real trouble. To be fair I've only said Harrogate because I needed someone to finish below us and I couldn't think of anybody else even having a remote chance of being as crap as we are going to be.
