The 1FF GameShow Marathon

So earlier today, I was sat in work disappointed to have to miss this final feeling pretty shit. It's only about the 3rd game I've had to miss out on and obviously, it was the most important. Toward the end of my shift I had a scroll through the thread to see how it was going and if it was over... it was tense as fuck, and I wasn't even witnessing it live.

It came down to that last steal. When the question went up, honestly, the first thing that came to mind was "trousers" for some reason. So I was delighted to see we went with that... and then... I saw the result.

Basically, I hope nobody checks the security footage. Not sure how I'll be able to describe my actions.

So proud of my fellow Jehovahs. Absolute fucking stars. As soon as I saw the teams I was delighted, and apparently it was with very good reason.

Commiserations to Tinpot who were outstanding finalists, and as has been said, that final scoreline was in no way a fair reflection of how evenly matched we were.

And finally, obviously, well done to James for running this. These forum games have always been the best thing about this community for me and the GSM is yet another triumph. Hope we don't have to wait too long until the second one.

I guess we didn't need that extra life in PYCR as much as I thought we did after all.

I swear I actually had about 3 being thought up at one time back along. TFF Wars won out of those three and I forgot about the other two. One of them is definitely coming back though... probably what I'll get working on once 1FF Wars is out of the way.

Oh yeah and I said I'd do the next NOTW as well. So... yeah, I guess between NOTW, 1FF Wars and [REDACTED], I am actually working on 3 games at the same time again. God damn it.

It's been in the planning stages since just after we migrated over here Oaf. In some ways it borrows heavily from TFFWars, where you'll get a transfer kitty to start with, a random selection of player offers, some with special abilities etc. It's a whole thing of its own in other areas as well. There'll be designated transfer/signing windows, instead of asking for new signing options after each game week. It'll be a 3 players a side match, with the result being affected by Def/Mid/Att capabilities, dice throws, and special incidents such as red/yellow cards, throw ins, free kicks,corners and penalties.

An example of an ability (Not saying this will be used as I've only just gotten the rules and how it works down, and started on a character roster and their attributes - 4 so far,Ideally I want 200, with all time greats being incorporated into that, as well as lower league players where obviously price of players high or low will be a big consideration) would be say...Long Throw Specialist. Say this was a one off, single use ability, if you decided pre match to pick this player from your squad(Which will probably be limited to a number I've yet to decide because of amount of player characters) to play in your upcoming fixture, it would for example give you an ??% chance of you scoring from that situation. I know how it's gonna work regarding possession, throw in, other dead ball options related to the overall attributes of your 3 chosen players, but it still needs a lot of fine tuning.

But, it is happening, it will go ahead, so get ready for Spirederman's first ever foray into the major forum game market (Running Sheep seasons doesn't count).
It won't however be until probably late Summer at the earliest, so just a case of how long it takes me to get it finished.

Regarding the set up, it will either be a solo game or teams of 2. It's gonna be in a Champions League format, so depending on how many sign up, if we get 32 it'll be teams of 2, if we only get 16, then solo, anywhere between that then it will be a mix of solo and pairs. I want 4 groups of 4 to play each other H/A, then into 2 legged quarters/semis and a one of final at a neutral ground so no benefits are gained from playing as the home side.

It's been a hard slog getting it this far, I ain't giving up on it now.

But as for the part regarding how many people want to play... get setting it up for 32. No way only 16 people will want to take part!
