Shaun Batt is symptomatic of the problems we have with football in this country, a player who has spent nearly a decade in professional football based entirely on being both 6'4" and quick. Any lower league team in Spain or Italy would laugh him out of town if he turned up for a trial yet over here he gets chances time and time again. Meanwhile we have a genuine technically gifted playmaker in Shomotun who MA has given precisely zero minutes this season. I don't get why we bother investing so much into a youth team and high quality academy facilities when we have a manager who has no time for youth.

Awful weather, awful performance, awful ground. Just awful.

We lacked any threat whatsoever. We didn't do anything. The complete opposite to what we have been playing like in recent weeks.

I can see why Luton are where they are. A very average team that only took advantage through a good strike. They didn't do a lot despite how bad we were playing.

He is one of the worst footballers I've ever seen. I still wonder how he got a league club, much less gets minutes. I also don't understand why it was Gambin who went off.

First visit and it felt like a non league game. What a tip that stadium is. Can't be League standard surely?

I actually love Luton's place. As much as I dislike the town and the club, the ground is a proper Footbal ground.

Anyway, the hoodoo at Lolton continues. We were poor today, and there is no hiding from it.

He's so fucking bad. One of our highest earners too I reckon.

Christ. Bit of a meltdown on here. Cute that you hate us/the town/everything that isn't Barnet. Also pathetic. It's Barnet.

To clarify, it's Barnet.

Good win, managed the game well, much better side than Barnet.

P.S. Josh McQuoid was brilliant.

Some of the past behaviour from a big selection of your fans gives me all the reason in the world to dislike Luton.

And you have to admit, the town and stadium are dives. There's no escaping that.

Anyone who doesn't like the ground clearly is used to going to soulless grounds like ours sixfields etc

One of my favourites
2 well taken goals, Luton took their chances we didn't.

I actually like the vibrancy around the ground with all the colourful shops

Just wish we had of scored early as we should of capitalised on lutons nervous start.

Well played Luton, deserved the win. I agree with BFS, new stadiums are cold and soulless. Give me a ground with atmosphere and character every time.

The Kenny could be worse.

We could be playing in a completely different area to where the team actually represents for instance...

Based on you spending 3 hours in the worst area of town? Luton is not a dive as such many seem to make out. There are houses worth £500,000+ in this town.

Our new stadium will be in the town centre next to the railway station (so you'll see even less of Luton); not beautiful by any means but far better than Bury Park.

Back to the game - a word for Barnet. Impressed by their never say die attitude - Martin Allen's teams are always hardworking so it wasn't really a shock, but even at 2-0 down towards the end of the game they didn't give up. Stark comparison to Dagenham two weeks ago who were an absolute mess.

I thought they played pretty well in patches - and played attractive, attacking football too.

It does make me smile when the "Luton's a shithole, I want to go home" chants come out, usualy when a side are losing. Never heard it before so I feel suitably outraged everytime.

I think we were much better that we have been in recent weeks. Probably the best home performance of the year with the exceptions of Stoke and Brizzle City in the cup competitions.
Griffiths is currently superior to Potts at LB and now him and his wife are over the issues surrounding their kids birth, he should start every game.
Lawless is comfortable at RB and should probably stay there for the rest of the season, unless Michael Harriman (who was apparently at the game yesterday) comes in January . O'Donnell looks so nervy and Long is inexperienced. Lawless, despite being a winger, is defensivley sound, tenacious and can attack when needed. If we are going to start playing Danny Green on the right, there's no issue putting Lawless RB. Speaing of Green...
I've no idea what has happened between him and Still this season, but his quality is there for all to see. Seems to have been resolved now and he scored a cracker yesterday. Long may it continue.
Sometimes I'm not sure what Cam McGeehan brings to the side but he does have this habit of turning up in the right position to score and now ahs 8 for the season. Can't argue with that.
Special mention for Josh McQuiod. Entirely abject when played on the wing in the first part of the season but has been fantastic the last few games. Direct running and a great shot. Deserved man of the match.
The only downside for me is that Wilkinson and Cuthbert seem not to have built an understanding at CB. Shakey at best. Really missing Sumo.

Barnet I felt were limited but stuck well to the task. Big guy up top and two decent wingers who perhaps tried to do too much. Certainly seen worse teams this season.

Finally if there's one person you dont want the majority of your chances to fall to, it's Jonathon Smith. Love the guys enthusiasm and passion, but his inability to pass a ball 5 yards is frustrating as hell.

So I presume from that that you feel the behaviour of some of your fans at Barnet games in recent years is hilarious too?

I've also never come across personal abuse from any other fans except those from Luton - yesterday was no exception. Some vile behaviour both before and after the game as I was walking in and out of the stadium.

Fair result although the we had a a few spells of possession we didn't create anything meaningful. Luton played quite well to be fair.

I also quite liked the ground (although being 5'7" probably helped) it's definitely unique And 8,000 home fans in League Two has to be admired really.

We'll just have to get our first win vs "The Town" on home soil won't we!

I couldn't possibly comment on your experiences. However if I held grievances every time I experienced negative behaviour from small amount of fans, I'd 'hate' half the teams in the country. However I choose not to.

I can only assume you are about 12 years old and easily offended.

And yes, the abuse directed at Jon Nurse (which from previous posts seems to account for at least 75% of your randomly pathetic hate for Luton fans) was entirely justified.

I can only assume you also involve yourself in that kind of behaviour then, if you can't understand how it should have no place in the football community.

You say you are against personal abuse in football but the only person who has been personally abusive on this thread is you Urban, you've personally abused your own player in Shaun Batt twice on this thread , including calling him a "fucking giraffe" and called Luton fans degenerates.

So does "personal abuse" have no place in the football community or is it only ok when you do it?

Please remove the sizeable chip from your shoulder, climb down from the moral high ground and get over yourself.

I thought that that sort of thing is more the preserve of a 12 year old than an adult myself..

You're correct, although there is a difference between saying things in jest on an Internet message board and abusing someone in person across a street (in front of young children), as well as being different to throwing coins and making threats to a player as he tearfully apologises to the fans for his terrible tackle.

I don't just hold this grudge against Luton for no reason - I've never once had a nice experience regarding them and some of the abuse I've received literally for just wearing a Barnet shirt is awful. I've not received it at any other ground or club (at least to the level I do at Luton).

I think the fact that all of you are on here mocking me before you know the full history of events is at best shortsighted, and at worst rude and obnoxious.

Nice to see you condone that type of behaviour then. You're probably involved in shouting obscenities at myself and the family with young children that I went to the game with. After all, we're all damp socks and need to learn to love being told what we are, especially the 5 and 8 year olds.
