Very poor finishing from us should have got 4 at least, Argyle were well organised but one of the poorest teams to have played at the Moat this season. Very annoying to have lost our home record like this.

Plymouth seem set up well to soak up pressure and nick a goal on the road.

Some sour grapes from Doncaster, love that they nearly went an entire calendar year unbeaten at home and we go there and just play a complete blinder with a smash n grab.

There should be no surprises, this is how we play away from home and it's really effective, we allow the other team to have possession especially in their own half and defend solidly then when we get the ball we counter at pace and we're very good at attacking and defending set pieces. Teams know exactly what we're going to do away from home but they just can't stop us doing it.

Those that say it was just a poor performance and poor finishing from Donny, really? Is it a coincidence that suddenly these players that are unbeaten for nearly 12 months at home just suddenly become cack?? No, it's because they're being hounded and blocked given no time on the ball by a team that's defending extremely effectively.

Didn't watch much of it but that's just typical Plymouth. Most of their match threads have opposition fans saying how they've dominated but got done on the counter. This happened when we played them at Ewood Park last season, a deflected goal and a late counter.

Therefore it isn't luck like most claim, but good game management! I expect us to do the same against Portsmouth. Derek has cracked it away from home, if he had a tactic that worked for home games we'd of ran away with the league.

See my first post in this thread. It's what happened.

Another 'lucky' away win. Our 12th of the season!

Sounds a bit like Bumble's "We flipping murdered them", after an England v Zimbabwe World Cup game.

Sorry but we created 4 chances that should have been put away except for poor finishing this is on top of the 3 good saves from your keeper, yes you won doing what you do away from home but it was more down to our poor finishing not any great game plan of yours. Not sour grapes just facts we aren't clinical enough, we haven't been all season despite the amount of goals we've scored.

Plymouth had a good game plan, score then put all 11 behind ball.
We should of been 2-0 up in first half and had a stone wall penno turned away. But that's our own fault, also their keeper making 3 world class saves.
Second half was hard to watch but again thought we were the better team.
Fair play to Plymouth they deserve to be 2nd.

Why/when did you play them there?

Rovers played well yesterday, that's something we can surely agree on. I thought Plymouth were disappointing, just as I did in the reverse fixture. But, clearly, their style of play suits them well. They sit 2nd and have a very good chance of winning the league. It was a tough one take as I would have preferred our great home run to have come to an end in a game where the opposition actually had a go at us (Portsmouth for example)
It's vital not to over react to this though. At the start of the season, we would have taken finishing 3rd on goal difference so, as much as we'd love to be champions, let's put things into perspective.
One more thing, did Roves fans seriously believe that McCormick was going to be put off with the mindless cries of "murderer!" throughout the game? Annoyingly, he turned out to be man of the match, although, without doubt, Tommy Rowe was the best player on the pitch by a mile.
Chin up lads, we're still top :)

A good post. We did try to warn you about the Luke situation. He has never been affected by the abuse and despite the screams of murderer being factually incorrect, they do normally fuel him to to perform better.

We are all in this league because we are pants, the only difference between us and a lot of others is that Derek Adams has realised that the league is pants and you'll get away with a couple every week. So instead of trying to be a 'good team' and set the world alight in a league where everyone is crap, he's turned us into a team who are clinical and know how to win.

The time for being a 'good team' comes in the Championship in my opinion, where there are less room for errors and you don't get away with it so much. Until then it's all about winning and getting there. Who cares how anyone does that?

Wow how holier than thou are these Donny fans?

I always thought Donny was a decent little club but if this lot's representative of the rest of their fan base I'm starting to question myself,

Loving that we've frustrated the hell out of them and also taken a full 6 points off them to boot. Also loving that they've tried to harass McCormick and he's shut them all up by turning into Gordon Banks on a good day. What's more we've achieved what we've achieved this season on a fraction of their budget too

'Ave it!

How are we being holier than thou? I thought the chants yesterday were moronic and would only spur him on to a good performance which it did, I'm more frustrated by our lack of composure in front of goal and I think you will find that teams in League 1 who create the amount of chances we did yesterday will put at least 2 of them away

Plymouth fans seemingly getting overly sensitive about not receiving enough credit for beating the Champs away and earning a great result.

I was at Home Park and not once before the incident at the end where he taunted Mandeville after his penalty and got Coppinger sent off, was there any chant aimed at McCormick. Had that not happened, I honestly don't think that he would have received the abuse he did yesterday. Look, I hate it. I cringe when I hear it and I have seen enough football to know that more often that not, the player has the last laugh. Let's just move on eh? Well done Plymouth, you have taken maximum points off us and deserve credit. See you in League One

Stone wall penno?! Was that the one where the Donny player did the swan dive for no apparent reason and was lucky not to get booked? As a neutral it was a pants game especially after the previons game on the telly, Scunny v Bradford 3-2, but I thought Donny were actually quite toothless and the only penalty shout was in the first few minutes when the Plymouth lad was dragged down in the box but that seems to have been glossed over.

Our penno shout was right in front of me, he had no reason to go down, he had beaten the player, so it was a penno or a booking, ref gave neither, thought he was a bit too soft for a game that big.
