Might be controversial for some of you " proper" blues types but I don't care.

Elvie Thomas and Geeshie Wiley were two Texan blues musicians that switched between guitar/vocals duties during a few recording sessions before seeming to vanish without a trace. The handful of songs that survive are seriously powerful. If you have a ridiculous amount of time devotion for these things, a few blues fans in the 21st century went on a long search to colour in Thomas' and Wiley's lives, and it made for one hell of a story: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/04/13/magazine/blues.html

I was buying and listening to Captain Beefheart before I discovered Howlin' Wolf and my first Blues Album was Johnny Winter on Marble Arch - but I caught up with a vengeance through the 80s.

Lots of versions by the Who but this was first in the collection.

I don't even remember if it was in the set list when they played Freshers' Week at Reading Uni in 1971 but it was a hell of an introduction to "life off the farm" for me.

Listened to Fleetwood Mac's Mr Wonderful, driving down the A1 from E Yorks today. Proper Fleetwood Mac. Great driving music. This seems to be the best that Youtube can offer.

Yep, it's the Junkies again, but I can't help not thinking of this band when I think of Blues.

Excellent live version of Working on a Building
