He was chasing Manny before the Mayweather fight was announced - and I'd fancy Manny to stop Khan more than I would Brook.

I agree with you though, it all seems a bit strange doesn't it?

Kell Brook vs Frankie Gavin then, hardly PPV worthy. This is as much a cop out as Khan fighting Algieri.

Brudov (guy that fought Bellew not long back) has just suffered the worst KO of the year.

Not pretty

Andy Lee vs Peter Quillin tonight, no title on the line as Quillin is a fat bastard.

Just saw a quick interview with Qullin, comes across as a pretty stellar chap.

Both fights were good.

Lee got dropped in the first round and got put down for a 2nd time soon after. He boxed well though and dropped Quillin with a sweet right. I had Quillin 113 -112 but you couldn't grumble about the draw.

Garcia got bullied by Peterson in the later rounds, Lamont boxed sick and was smashing Garcia all over the place. Didn't score it but lots of people thought Peterson should have won it. He started slowly which cost him, cuz in the final rounds there was only one winner.

I scored it 115-113 to Peterson. Gutted as I backed Peterson at almost 3-1. Peterson dominated the 2nd half of the fight and nicked an early round for me. Some of Petersons boxing on the last 5 rounds was top class stuff. Not enjoyed watching a masterclass like that for sometime. Wrong winner, I lost money, but a very decent fight. Garcia's "0" is still tact but yet again only just.

All about Provodnikov vs Matthysse this weekend coming up. I've not looked forward to a fight this much for a long time. I just worry because everybody's expectations are through the roof.

Garcia has had one or two close decisions go his way recently.

To be honest I think he'll move up to 147 now which should suit him better. He's the best at 140 and there are some big fights out there for him at 147.

Matthysse, Mathews, Crawford all win and Chavez Jr gets stopped. Decent night of boxing.

Well at least that means the Froch v Chavez fight shouldn't happen now. Never interested me in the first place.

Virgil Hunter strikes again, first the Khan/Algieri nonsense and now this. It can't even be called a tune-up for Ward ahead of bigger things, he proves nothing with this fight, he's fighting a guy that lost twice to someone Ward took to school. He's not a KO guy but he will probably KO Smith.

Badou Jack beat Anthony Dirrell on points last night to win the WBC. Jack will now fight Groves, gotta fancy the saint in that match up. Provided De Gale beats Andre for the IBF, the UK will essentially rule the SMW scene.

Surely Froch can't retire if we have two UK fighters boasting legitimate world titles? As it stands Froch owns a fake world title.

Going to be interesting to see what path he decides to follow. Can they get Ward over to the UK? Even if they can, do you want to go up against the P4P fighter of the division or cash out in a mega domestic dust up?

I have my doubts as to whether Froch is big enough in the States to make the Ward fight PPV in the states. Thank fuck Chavez got put away, would've been nauseating to see them try and parade Froch v Chavez as some sort of cementing of legacy. FWIW, De Gale schools Froch.

I read that Jack gets a voluntary so he doesn't have to fight Groves if he doesn't want to. Could be really a really irritating time for George if he Jack looks elsewhere.

I think this is the best chance for Groves to win the world strap though, hope he can get it done!

You'd have to imagine the Sauerland's will put up the corn for their man, even if it means the card/fight makes a loss. The financial rewards to be gained from Groves having a world strap would be enormous. Froch/De Gale/C Smith would yield big monies. Can't imagine Badou Jack is short of a dollar being under Mayweather, but Sauerland should still be able to entice him into a fight.

How are people watching Mayweather vs Pacquiao?

Weigh in coming up at 11pm. Come the first bell I think we will see Floyd hitting harder than most are expecting and after rehydrating tomorrow his weight advantage is going to show big time.

The more I think about it the more I just see him taking control of the fight about halfway through as he so often does and winning close rounds. Roach goes on about his gameplan for this, but what exactly is it? "In the pocket with flurries and then out", it's easier said than done as most of them won't land and Mayweather will always counter and tag you clean as you step back out. The "tactic" with De La Hoya seemed to be basically working towards getting him near the ropes then going to work with bodyshots. Maidana did a bit of the same in the first fight and some rough stuff thrown in and with pretty good success it must be said. But unlike Manny they were 2 pretty big guys with the ability to physically manhandle him and deal out some rough stuff. Mayweather's ring generalship and control is never in question and I just think after an early Manny surge in the first 3 or 4 rounds where we all think it's happening, he is going to have Manny fighting his fight at his range and judges love scoring Mayweather for this. Some of the judges in this scored the first Maidana fight, which was much closer than they scored it. So Mayweather has the judges, his ref Bayliss and he's at home. There's no way they will give Manny a points win here to inflict a first ever "official" defeat on him.

Although I am desperate for him to win I just can't see how Manny can land enough scoring clean shots over 12 rounds to win this, his workrate and output will need to be something quite incredible.

In such a dilemma about this one..

Firstly - I really, really want to watch the fight - but seeing as I'm going to football the next day, I'm going to be absolutely shattered.

Secondly - I don't know whether to risk watching it on a stream and risk my internet being good enough for it to not buffer - or buy the channel and have some mates round to watch it...

Decisions..

Mate, this is an historic once in a generation fight. It's a must see, and should not be watched on a dodgy stream that could go down at any time. Watch it somehow.

Probably will unfortunately! Can see some last minute mind games from Mayweather forcing Manny to wait an eternity.

Haven't paid full wack for a fight since Hatton's ventures to Vegas but don't fancy relying on a stream for this one!
