And so we continue...

Hopefully our players aren't suffering too much of a cup hangover from tonight's mammoth shoot-out and disappointment and are ready to go at Barnet.

We're really yet to be outplayed by anyone this season when we've had 11 men on the pitch (including Port Vale and Derby), are unbeaten yet have only managed one league victory. The pressure on us to start winning games might be building.

We shall see.

They've had a good start and are always tough at home.

I hope our players get Wednesday and Thursday off. We need to be fresh for Saturday.

We are very predictable. If we score early we won't lose and we will concede at least one.
Most likely result 1-1.

I'd have said the same about us. 45 shots at goal and 26 corners in the last two games and we've only scored 2. Sooner or later we are going to convert a few more chances as really we should've won both those games fairly comfortably.

This'll be a tough game, Barnet are a strong side, especially at home. I hope the cup game hasn't taken too much out of our team, but I expect a couple of changes. None of the forwards played the entire game so they should be ok, and Adams was subbed early too. Kennedy may come in for Joyce/Jones and Lambe could return, so we've got decent options.

I've got a feeling we'll draw again, which wouldn't be a terrible result, but I hope we can snatch a 1-0.

Lambe and Adams should both be fresh for this with the latter having only played just over half of yesterday's match. I suspect Wyke will be back up front and Devitt will start again. Tough one to guess though as only the coaching staff will know who needs a rest and who will be ready to go again, most of the usual starting 11 have just done 120 minutes against a Championship side so will no doubt be at least a bit fatigued come Saturday. I'll take a stab at this:

Gillespie
Miller Ellis Raynes Grainger
Jones Penn
Lambe Devitt Adams
Wyke
The result will again be decided by how quickly we can recover from a long night last night, I recall a couple of times last season we'd have an exciting cup match followed by a drab league loss/draw. Barnet have had the full week to prepare for us too which is unfortunate. That being said, Curle will no doubt have been doing his homework regardless of the mid-week match and I'd expect us to be set up tactically in a way which lessens the effects of fatigue on the outcome of the game, meaning we'll likely revert to 4 at the back where the full backs aren't constantly running around and will have more help from the well rested wingers, and maybe a start for Penn in place of either Joyce or Jones (preferably Joyce). Ellis in for Gillesphey as well to help deal with Akinde.

Looking forward to the weekly CB bullying show Akinde puts on. Wonder who'll get it worse this time?

Raynes will be on him for headers I would think, should be an interesting battle. Hopefully it doesn't get as far as Akinde though with the way our midfield's been playing so far.

Raynes will win a lot in the air, but in terms of brute strength he's weak as fuck, shoulder to shoulder Akinde will put him on his arse like Ross Barkley did. To be honest we don't have any real strong defenders. Big Troy probably would have coped and not been bullied, but unfortunately his knees are made of plasticine.

We could always get Jabo to man mark him.

Has there still not been any info on Brisley? I thought he returned to training at the same point as Jabo, but he's still not featured.

He's our new Troy. But plasticine ankles instead of plasticine knees.

Completely forgot about Brisley, the way Curle was talking a couple of weeks ago it was like he was almost fit to play again but he hasn't even been in the squad yet. I wonder who our first choice centre backs will be once he's back, all three who've played so far have made a good case for themselves and Brisley was one of our bigger signings.

You never really know what a player's injury situation is with Curle as he doesn't like to give updates, this combined with the fact that he seems to require players to be much closer to full fitness before he'll look at them compared to other managers.

Akinde doesn't do headers, his thing is running onto through balls, presuming defenders into mistakes and falling over in the box.
We don't really bother with midfield either, balls from the back or long throws generally

If he presumes them into mistakes then that really is a talent.

I presume you will make a mistake, therefore you will.

Do you still have Sam Muggleton taking your throws?

If you're going to let us have free rein in the midfield then we're going to have about 70% possession... whether we turn that into goals is anyone's guess.

Bloody auto correct ☺. To be fair sometimes it's not far from the truth, some defenders seem to fall apart just because of his presence on the pitch.
Muggleton takes over when Togwells arms tire.

Only two changes for us, quite surprising after the midweek match. Devitt, Lambe and Adams all start together for just the second time (only 30 minutes at Portsmouth), think that'll work well and they should create a bundle of chances for Jabo and each other. Brisley finally appears on the bench too.

Our line up isn't the best. No recognised right back still and Dembele not included presumed injured means we look a bit weak at the back.

Poor start from us, can't see us coming back if I'm honest

Sorry Jabo, I was wrong. My love for you remains as strong as ever.

Any chance of Barnet bringing Gambin on?

We're playing fucking awful. Having Taylor and Bondz on the same side of defence is suicide against Adams and Grainger, who are just overlapping constantly. Bondz is always so shakey in defence.

Jabo's booking was a dirty late studs up slide into Togwells lower back/thigh. Wasn't impressed by that, he could've pulled out of the challenge as the ball had long gone before contact. Dirty move to pull, that.
