Anyone with a brain will realise any money saved from EU membership will be used to offset WTO tariff costs, in a bid to avoid large co-operations upping sticks and heading across the channel

I agree

The sick and disabled aren't the enemy now. Get with the programme, it's all about forcing businesses to disclose how many non native people they employ and jailing landlords for renting to illegal immigrants.

I'm not a Corbyn fan obviously, but hammering May on Brexit was the correct strategy today. Long may he do so.

Yeah, this is a bit weird. I understand the government have their own legislation in the works but filibustering seems pretty inappropriate, especially when the proposed legislation seems inferior to Nicholson's bill (under government plans individuals convicted under homophobic laws who are still alive will have to go through a unnecessary sounding administrative process).

As it's my old constituency I do feel I ought to mention the forthcoming by-election in Richmond Park triggered by Zac Goldsmith's resignation over Heathrow. Likely to be a fairly interesting contest for those of us enjoy a good old by-election DING DONG. Richmond Park comprises seven wards from the London Borough of Richmond and four from the Royal (no less) Borough of Kingston and was formerly a Liberal Democrat seat when they maintained something of a South West London stronghold (between 1997 and 2010 they held all five seats in the boroughs of Richmond, Kingston and Sutton. Richmond Park was lost to the Tories in 2010 with three of the four remaining seats turning blue as the Lib Dems were routed in 2015). At the time of the last election Goldsmith had build up a huge majority and I think he'll be pretty tough to unseat but I do wonder whether his personal vote may have weakened as a result of a) a rather nasty London Mayoral campaign b) Brexit. Like most of London Remain won the day in Richmond and Kingston and did so pretty convincingly. Unlike most of his constituents Goldsmith favoured Brexit so I imagine that this is likely to be a subject that features heavily in the campaign. If Witney's any indicator then the Lib Dems could make real headway (I'd certainly expect them to dramatically improve on the dismal 2015 result). I have to say that, whatever the outcome, the Conservatives' announcement that they won't be fielding a candidate in the constituency does seem to render the whole thing rather POINTLESS. Goldsmith wanted to make it a referendum on Heathrow - if there's no one from the governing party in the contest and no one standing who favours a third runway then how can it possibly be anything of the sort?!

Such a c***, I cannot click.

I agree, I'm not a fan of his column usually, but thought his latest was worth reading.

And no surprise at all that they are trying to whitewash Orgreave.

Im pleased tbh. Any government inquiry would have been weak and half arsed. A judicial review is far better. We'll see those bastards in court. Probably not the ones that really matter but still.

Shambles of a statement. Selling off more local authority housing, no mention of Brexit other than the hit being to the economy being almost double. Basically a long, tedious admission of abject failure.
