This is easily resolved, Archer just needs to keep bowling full tosses at his head until one knocks him out, problem solved. ;)

He must have nearly the highest percentage of a team's runs in a series!!

Our slip catching always seems to go awry at the worst possible time. Feel for Curran as he’s bowling very well. Makes me wonder why it’s taken until now to select him.

Turned on Cricinfo and Australia were 8 down and more than 100 adrift. I look again and they've failed to kill them off. Was hoping they've get them out for under 200. Well pissed off.

Decent lead for England I feel though could have been better in the end. Jofra and Curran have been magnificent.

Just unfortunate with the timing its now given us 20 minutes to have to bat out here.

Well this is our chance to build a solid lead thanks to Archer and co but their bowlers will come out firing .

We need to get a lead approaching 400, which is beyond this batting line-up because Smith will score 60% of them on his own.

Hope I'm wrong but I can't see a lead of 400 being built. There will be a collapse this afternoon and they'll scramble their way to a lead of 300/320ish, then it's down to the bowlers again.

Well what is a safe score given Australia basically have 2 batsmen showing any form ?!

300 will be easily enough I'd say but to be sure hopefully bat till lunch tommorrow and skittle them, then the c*** still haven't won here in 22 years by time they play here again.

Agreed on that, 300 would be more than enough. Of course someone like Warner could break the habit of the whole series and hit a quickfire hundred but the rest of the batting other than Smith and to a lesser extent Labuschagne should give Englands bowlers few concerns.

If we don’t win this from here then these lot need 50 lashes each from a cat of nine tails.

Curran looks at the moment like he’s in the death overs of a T20. Just needs to slow it down a bit, runs will come naturally.

The Aussie use of the DRS throughout this series has been fucking hilarious. Real weak spot of Paines captaincy.

Root isn't a lot better.

There is talk of having such a review system in football - on the basis of these 2 it might not go well!

Curran out now - guess we will keep going till the end of play and have a crack at the Aussies after lunch?

Smith is capable of scoring a double century, but might run out of partners.

Target of 399 for the Aussies. Will say England to bowl them out for approximately 280.

This is like Groundhog Day again, openers out early and Labuschagne and Smith in.

Wow we've actually got Smith out and relatively cheaply. What a time to be alive.

Despite not regaining the Ashes I think a drawn series will be a great result for us given how we’ve been outplayed for massive chunks of it.

Agreed, daft thing is assuming we polish off the rest of the Aussie order that a bit less time lost to rain at Lords and we'd have the Ashes back. More than happy with a draw though.

Reckon this series will have done some long term damage to Warners prospects also. All other bowling attacks round the world will have seen his struggles with that line Broad has bowled to him and will look to exploit it also. Doesn't seem to know where his off stump is anymore.

You could say that but they only needed another 100 or so to win with 4 wickets left, and smith didnt bat. We dont really deserve a draw but we had no where near a settled team, burns is now in after a decent series, buttler done much better in the last two, denly also has dug in, theres positives to take going forward, remember we had our best bowler missing all series too. As long as the wankers dont beat us which they wont now and winning the world cup I'd say it's been a great summer.

Job done for England. Great knock by Wade, shame he comes across as a bit of a bellend seemingly.

Nice for Leach to bowl the team to victory in the fourth innings, will do wonders for him that will.
