Last season of us being sponsored by One Call so this is the last cup final. On a slightly less note we can be promoted with a win and Mansfield could put themselves in the playoffs with a win. More importantly is wether Steve Evans wins the pukka pie bingo, oh and the ghost of the miners strike will still be sung by those too young to have experienced it.

Would have been a pretty big game had we won on Saturday - we didn't so the game doesn't have the same importance anymore - the season is pretty much done unfortunately.

Should be there for 10 - word has it they've finally done something with Doncaster town/city centre, so will be nice to try a few boozers and the like.

As for DearneValleyRover - more should and would be haunted by the ghost of Michael McIndoe than all that lark about miners and so on

I would agree but you know the chant of scab, scab, scab is coming your way by those not born when it happened. As for the town centre some of it has been done up and some not, if you like real ales there are some good pubs around the market

How many stags do you think will be at the game. We've given you an initial 741.

Think that sold out Saturday.

We've been given another 800.

Had we won Saturday, i'd have expected 2000 +, given the season is kinda finished now (win and I guess we'd have a small shout) maybe closer to 1300-1500

Hopefully be a good crowd, we're about to be promoted and it's a 'local' rivalry, it's always a tasty affair with Mansfield! I'd love 9,000/10,000 but I think it'll be 7,000/8,000

I don't think we'll sell over 1000. Last Saturdays result has drawn in a 'seasons gone' mentality amongst our lot. Shame, as a win would have guaranteed a good healthy away following.

We have a habit of playing sides on the day that they secure promotion. At least a defeat ought to make getting out easier at the whistle.

I'm finding it hard to believe you think your season over given that you are only 5 points behind Luton and 4 from Exeter and Carlisle especially given Carlisle's form of late. I hope fatty and his team feel the same as you.

I still think it will be near 2000. Apparently it's pay on the day for us too.

We've you away, Wycombe away, Luton at home, Stevenage away, Portsmouth at home, Crawley away.

The chances of us making the playoffs are small - less than 10% i'd say.

It's cushioned by the fact we should be pretty alright next season once we've had a summer of Evans sorting transfer dealings and a pre-season

It sounds as if it will be the same side who beat Grimsby with both Copps and Grant still carrying knocks.

Once again going defensive didn't work - though playing the league leaders away is a fair enough excuse - again we played a tactic which didn't work.

In front of a completely silent home support Mansfield started alright but kept donny at bay

I'd type more but I keep getting pop ups for King

Doncaster had more quality and were the better side. Again, Evans, supposedly the best manager in the world could not see that we were being outplayed in midfield. There was no point in persisting with Rose and Coulthirst when neither of them were holding up the ball.

Jake Kean was excellent.

Apologies for the minority of neanderthals trashing the billboards at the end.

I've now seen the same performance so many times this season that I've booked an appointment at the quacks to get some antibiotics for it.

Roll on May. Again.

You were doing something right because we changed formation after 15 mins

I thought for the first 50 minutes we played alright, much like last week, but we were sussed out and paid the price without really counteracting the way we could have done.

Macdonald, shaq and green were poor throughout and we offered nothing at note at goal.

I'll leave the remaining games now, it's £100 a shot coming over from Manchester and the level of performances and tactical nouse doesn't make it worth it.

Big changes need to be made in the summer, whitehead has gone off the boil, both wingers are questionable at best and we've no other forward then danny Rose who looks the part.

Though it leant detract that we were a distant 2nd , however that homer of a ref didn't give that rugby challenge of a penalty late on was ridiculous - especially given the questionable penalty decision against us last week.

We're okay but completely toothless going forward. Today's performance was the default one which we roll up most weeks.

Anyway, congratulations on your promotion fella, consistency has done the job for you. Personally hoping that its not over a decade til we have a derby again.

If I were Evans now, i'd stick the "50/50" players in and see how they perform.

Whereas I don't wish for us to end the season in poor form, in the long run he'd learn more about how squad players do in these games than keep playing the same lads we are right now.

Again, I wasn't thrilled with the tactics Saturday....

My favourite players at the moment are loanees Jake Kean and Hayden White. Do we stand a chance of keeping those two once their loan spells are up?

I reckon Green has something to offer but not if he's going to be played on the left. Him and Coulthirst would still make quite a lot of teams in this division as nippy strikers, although I find Coulthirst ball-greedy and not worth a starting position at the minute. Danny Rose has improved greatly since earlier in the season and he's developing into a good, lower-league target man.

My concern would be midfield. Byrom's set pieces are good and Whiteman is worth a goal quite often but I'm not yet convinced by them, or indeed MacDonald out on the wing. Hamilton, also, is wholly ineffective and offers little in my opinion. I reckon we still lack quality in the middle and on the flanks. If I am allowed to say it then I actually think that Clements would have complemented Whiteman and Byrom in midfield.

The defence I quite like. Benning and White are good offensively and then Krystian Pearce is just a good, solid L2 defender.

I'm not yet convinced by Evans or his promotions. :pond:

Jake Kean is far and beyond better than Shearer or the beast - i've little time for Shearer - he's simply not good enough.

The defence is more than fine for me, I think in general they do a good job, but don't always get the cover from midfield they should get.

Clements - still think we can do better, unfortunately he had a chance and didn't cover himself in glory when Evans was first at the club, and I think both him and the fans knew he could and can do better - he was hamstrung by Murray's uber negative tactics - he found himself too far in his own half too often when he should have been filling a space between the forward(s) and midfield.

Hayden White and Ben Whiteman would be unbelievable signings for me in the summer - the latter more so with Sheffield Utd's promotion (if not already secure) are possible, but they'd require decent wages - maybe we could get the latter on a season long loan again.

I loved Shaq when he started, but have fallen out of love with him - his passing distribution is poor. Green - I think Evans doesn't like him and I believe he will bring in better.

Doncaster was an eye-opener on what needs to be achieved to come anywhere close to promotion next season

Evans wouldn't be playing Green if he didn't like him. I think he will be gone in the Summer however. His wages are enough to bring in 2/3 quality players at this level.

Whiteman would be a great signing. He's been brilliant in the majority of his games, at just 18/19 he's got alot to learn and is always going to have the odd quiet game.

I'd get rid of Kean, Shearer, Howkins, Shires, Collins, Hemmings, Hurst, Hamilton, Potter, Baxendale, Arquin, Shaq and Hoban. Undecided on Thomas and Green although I think Evans will have made his mind up. I'd keep the rest.

What's happened to Jack Thomas? I liked him a couple of seasons ago. Is he doing alright at Barrow? Will he return?

Bad attitude by the looks of it, never understood that in a player tbh.

RC - surprised you wouldn't keep Kean, unless you believe we'll bring in better?
