Anyone starting to get a little excited?

I'm tempting to just go over a few days during the first week of the tournament, but I have no idea how to plan it etc? Will travel, accommodation etc be so expensive now too?

Where will be the best place to go?

Any help lads?

I don't know about travelling to France but train tickets within France are very reasonable. Just bought a Lyon/Paris one way for 60€ for the 27th.

That's 6 games for me: England/Russia, Belgium/Ireland, Iceland/Austria and 3 KOs.

The Austria vs Hungary match could be a little fiery considering their history!

England must win the group to stand any chance of making it to the semi final to probably face Spain.

I worked it out that if we qualify from 3rd we will likely face Spain straight away in the last 16 and if we are runners up of the group we are likely to face holders France in the quarter finals.

MUST WIN THE GROUP!

Romania at 7/4 - 2/1 to be eliminated in round of 16 seems like a cracking price to me, looking at who they could possibly play in the second round, as they're only likely to qualify as 3rd or possibly 2nd. I'll be lumping on that.

Germany are 4/1 and Spain are 11/2 to win it all, seems decent.

No alcohol for the fans before England/Wales it seems (well apart from in the fan zone)

From BBC:

French authorities are to impose a 24-hour alcohol ban in the city of Lens for the Euro 2016 meeting of England and Wales. The ban will start on 06:00 BST the day, but will not apply to the 10,000 capacity fan zone.

Won't be an issue there just trying to stop so many people going to lens. It will just be a street ban on the booze it will be fine in the bars/restaurants I think. We're there the night before so a stock up may be required just in case.

They did the same at PSG games back in the days where we were well hard (and by that I mean shave your head and put your arm up). Basically near the ground no booze will be sold but you can buy some in the surrounding areas. Just stay at Lille, buy loads of cans, take the train and get pissed. Sorted.

It's at all Lens games, I'm going to Turkey v Czech, but only imposed on street drinking, seen bars will be allowed to sell, happened to us in 98 in Lens when I went to England v Columbia

Injuries hitting major players ahead of the tournament.

Alan Dzagoev for Russia and Varane for France will both miss the whole show, big blow for both teams I thinks.

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
Koscielny and Mangala to start at the back for France then?
Suppose it's good for England that Dzagoev is out, tidy creative player him.

ITV are probably wrong.

Possibly, but I doubt it.

There will be near on 100,000 English and Welsh there. It will not make any sense to serve alcohol in bars/hotels/restaurants, how would you confine all these people in to just these small areas? The ban would be impossible to enforce, let alone health and safety.

I don't think there will be 100,000 British fans in Lens either.

All games are CAt 1 seats 4 off together. I have England v Slovakia wales v Slovakia Iceland v hungary, Czech v Croatia Hungary v Austria Winner Gr E v R Up D Winner Gr C v 3A/B/F
Depending on what match and how many tickets you want depends on the price. I have 2 matches in each stadium so if you take both the Saint Etienne games the price comes down. let me know which ones you are interested in.

I said near on, which I don't think is far off.

The stadium holds 41,000, the fanzone 10,000 so that's 50,000 on its own. I would say it is easily conceivable that at least 15-20k ticketless fans from both sides will have booked up. I just can't see how they are going to be able to sell alcohol and expect everyone to stay on the premises, it will in no-way deter trouble, probably increase the likelihood of it if anything.

Just a scare tactic to try and stop people going. I don't think it will be an issue at all

Not every single person in the 41,000 crowd will be British.

There certainly won't be 15-20k ticketless Wales fans in Lens.
There won't be near on 100k British fans in Lens.

I imagine the "booze ban" is simply to stop too many people being in Lens before the match. Most sensible fans have decided to have a few beers at a quiet location before the game before travelling in for kick off.
