Off back to Porto tomorrow, my third visit there but only doing the weekend this time, love the place.

Francesinhas are probably the ultimate meal.

Looking for a cheap week somewhere in the UK near the sea in mid August for myself, the missus and the two little'uns. Don't want to spend more than £600-£700 but struggling at the moment to find anything. Would rather avoid the neddy holiday parks. Having kids at school really fucks up getting decent value breaks.

Puerto del Carmen on the 22nd April. Cheap little break with the missus.

Anyone know realistically what the weather will be like and which bar is the best?

Just spent a week on the north Norfolk coast, lovely part of the country. Stayed in a place called Weybourne.

Just booked a nice little cottage on the Lizard peninsula for a week, and for a cracking price at just under £600. Also a Brucey bonus with the beach being less than 5 minutes walk away.

Off the back of a week in Madrid and Valencia a few days ago, I've just booked two nights in Barcelona in 10 days. Flights and Hotel for £110, not bad.

Anyone who has been to Cambodia for a couple of weeks or so, did you bother with malaria tablets?

It depends where you're going - we went to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap (where you don't need them) and Kampot and Sihanoukville (where it's pretty high risk). We took them the whole time though, as we came from an area of Vietnam where they were required and we were still on them from that as you have to keep taking them for a week after leaving a malaria zone.

I wouldn't much fancy going in to a high risk zone without them, but you might be ok if you cover up and use plenty of repellent.

Ah, i'm going to Kampot and Sihanoukville but only 2 or 3 days in each place. Is it Malarone you took? I'd rather get the more expensive ones as the treatment is much shorter. I think you have to take the cheaper ones for a month afterwards compared to a week with Malarone. Still an annoying additional cost though.

If in doubt I take them, especially having travelled with a guide who collapsed with malaria at the airport from an infection years before.

I've used Malarone regularly for a few years now with no side effects (unlike Lariam). The price of the generic from the best online suppliers is much cheaper than some options. Still a significant cost - but worth it.

Yeah, we were on Malarone. As Habbinalan says, you can get them at reasonable prices. I've never looked online but we did get some generic ones from an Asda pharmacy for a fairly low price a couple of years ago.

Dublin in May, Ohrid in June and Malaga in July. I couldn't believe how cheap it is to fly and stay in Ohrid for a week.

Wait till you see the food/beer prices out there! :2thumb:

Long shot, but has anyone travelled from Sarajevo to Zenica? (Guess some welsh fans have). Čelik are now at home on Saturday so we're looking at making the journey up but I can't find train times. Know there's buses, but train journeys are always interesting in that part of the world.

Booked Bucharest for when I have a gap in Uni exams in May. Turin/Lyon/Breda in June. July I need to sort something, then interrailing in August. Can't wait!

Hearst it's like a £1 a pint and food is well cheap. My mate is marrying a native. Managed to get a place overlooking Lake Ohrid for about £179 for a week.

Just flicking through my photos and one bar was £0.80 for a 0.5l, and that's the most expensive one on the menu!

Stunning place, worth taking the boat over to the St Naum monastery.

Right, good folks of TFF....

In the process of planning my stag do, or more specifically the location.

Got my heart set on a trip to Germany, possibly with a Bundesliga game thrown in for good measure. Options are:

Munich
Düsseldorf
Hamburg
Berlin

Now can anyone tell me if they've been to either or multiple of the above destinations and, even better, share your opinions on what's the best (if you have reasons other than "it was dead good", then that'd be appreciated).

Thanks all!

I have only been to Berlin, however I know that Berlin is much cheaper than Munich, which is typically the most expensive of the big German cities.

Now, depends a bit on when you go. Berlin is not that attractive, but has a lovely atmosphere and is a great place to be outdoors. Very easy to get around, lots to see, food and drink very cheap indeed compared to the UK. Although, Berlin does not have so much of an outdoor, beer garden culture as they do in the south of Germany. However, flights to Berlin tend to be pretty cheap. I'm biased, as I said I've only been to Berlin, but I'd recommend it as a great option. (When researching other cities on your list, I get the impression that Hamburg is a nice town but not that exciting, and I don't know much about Dusseldorf).

Came back from Munich 9 days ago! Quite expensive, not a great deal to do in terms of sites to visit. Nice to see, but if I had the chance again I'd visit other places before Munich. Check out Cologne.

How much was Ohrid accommodation wise? I know flights there are ridiculously cheap

Going to Budapest in June for 4 days. Any decent sightseeing trips and/or bars that the good folk of 1FF can recommend?
