Well that was a bit good.

This is where we all start getting our hopes up, isn't it?

Yeah, Vardy probably didn't learn to do that at the Shay.

Intrigued to see what Roy does now. He surely can't drop Kane, Alli or Dier after that (unless there's an injury). So who misses out?

Does he leave out Welbeck and shove Alli out there with Rooney behind Kane? The team and subs tonight were spot on so hopefully not.

Another option could be Henderson drops out and Alli drops deeper or perhaps Rooney fills in a wide spot.

As you know I'm championing the diamond so I hope he starts with that against Holland.

Drinkwater should replace Henderson in a diamond. Then go with the 442 I posted up before. Rooney can fuck off.

If fit Rooney deserves a place on the bench and no more. We played well, maybe the best under Roy? Hope we haven't peaked too soon.

Take Cahill out as well that was really poor defending for their second goal and his distribution is even worse than Smalling's

Good performance, but there will be a lot more to come from Germany in a competitive match.

I think the team we played today is pretty close to what we should go with in the Euros. I wouldn't play Rooney, we play better without him. Wilshere has to be in the team, probably for Henderson. We have good options up front which is nice for a change.

The way we played tonight is the way we should play at the Euros. I'd put Hart and Sterling in if available, but otherwise I think that's our best team. I still think Rooney is a good player and has something to offer in the squad, but he doesn't fit in that team.

Very good performance from England even when going 2 down.

Just shows what can be done with players in form who have a bit of confidence..

Unfortunately it sounds like Roy is going to give others a chance so expect another 4-2-3-1 with Vardy to come on again later to make it a 4-4-2 diamond.

Something like:

--------------------Forster

Walker----Stones---Jagielka----Rose

------------Drinkwater---Milner

Walcott-----------Barkley------Welbeck

------------------Sturridge-------------------

Then he'll make one or two changes 2nd half again and go something like:

--------------------Forster

Walker----Stones---Jagielka----Rose

--------------------Dier-----------------------

------Drinkwater-----Milner----------------

------------------Barkley----------------------

----------Vardy---------Sturridge-----------

Bloody 'ell, would he really not field Kane? That's ruined my night just reading that!

Really impressed with the 4 Spurs lads, what a job Pochettino has done with them. Dier and Alli especially, they really hold their own in the midfield. Vardy and Barkley looked really good when they came on too, what a goal from Vardy. Lallana isn't good enough to start and Cahill and Henderson aren't in the best of forms but other than that I'm very happy.

That was a fukin awesome display! really enjoyable to watch and fully deserved the winning goal at the end, to think that players like Rooney, Wilshere, Sturridge, Sterling and Walcott didn't feature aswel make it more satisfying. 4 changes i would make to that team to start against Russia if everyones available, Butland, Cahill, Henderson and Welbeck out, Hart, Stones, Wilshere and Sterling in.

Officially excited for the Euro's. Football's coming home.

Seriously though we were brilliant tonight. Alli gives us so much in midfield. We'll tear the ageing Russian defence a new arsehole with that sort of endeavor going forward.

Get it correct at the back and we'll do OK.

That was a fantastic performance with top quality and great character to comeback from 2-0 down against the World Champions, some very mature and level headed players in that team tonight!

This England team gets better and better and it has come far from the one that played at the last WC. I must say that was one of the best England performances I've ever seen and the football we play is really good to watch, much better to see than the so called 'golden generation' shambles from 10 years ago.

It is easy to get carried away, but we must remember that real progress is not made until we actually get far and get the business done in a tournament against teams like Germany and Italy.

England players, please please don't get injured for once so we can have a fit team for a change and none of the usual bad luck at a the tournament.

Players like Rooney deserve to go BUT he surely cannot be expected to start with guys like Kane and Vardy being far far better for England! Rooney has had so many chances to impress at tournaments and has done fuck all since 2004. Hope Hodgson has common sense and won't go down the Erikson and Capello route of picking negative players just because they are bigger names. Oh and please don't start Milner either!

I'd put Hart in, but Sterling's injury and Welbeck's form after coming back means he's probably ahead of him.

But I utterly shudder at the thought of Kane and Vardy getting splinters while Rooney lumbers around.

Just please for the love of god, keep Rooney out of the starting 11. Much more fluid without him.

He is our record goal scorer, mainly thanks to teams like San Marino though, but whenever he plays it's as if the whole set up is about how the team can play around Rooney and he is usually so boring and lack lustre as he'll just linger around for whole matches without doing anything.

There is still this thought process that he is still Englands best player by miles even though he has done nothing for us when it matters for over a decade now!

He is the only remaining 'Golden Generation' player the team has now!

Henderson has been shit but Wilshere? LOL. Drinkwater deserves that position.

Good performance and could of hit five or six tonight against a very sloppy German back line who couldn't cope with our high pressing game and (never thought I'd say this about an England attack) some great build up play.

Three very good goals, Kane and Vardys were top drawer and we've made a statement tonight, the Welsh won't be so cocky about their chances after seeing that and let's not forget this follows a superb qualifying campaign and a good performance against France.

Hopefully we don't peak too soon and take this into the Euro's, I really hope we stick with this young squad regardless of what happens in France as the likes of Alli, Dier, Kane etc will only improve with time and we could be a powerful force in two or three years time if we develop them in to a regular unit as the Germans have done in rebuilding after Euro 2004.

After years of gloom some positive signs ahead.

No way should we take any crocks to the Euro's, if they are fit then that's fine but if you take players like Wilshire and Chamberlain who are really good but if they're just going to be crocks then it's a waste of time and damaging to the dressing room.

Oh and it's good to see only one Man Utd and one Chelsea player playing tonight for England. Don't want them shit negative clubs sending players to the England team. No Man City players either lol.

Possibly England's most talented player who has been man of the match* in a lot of his most recent England performances vs a bloke who hasn't even played a game for England yet.

*6 times in his last 7 England games. First name on the teamsheet to be honest.

Cant argue with that i think hes a quality player, just a shame hes always injured, i can imagine him linking up brilliantly with Alli, Barkley and Lalllana in midfield, hope he can get himself fit and sharp again for the euros.

Wilshere's an overrated chav - Roy would do well to forget he even exists and stick with Ali and Dier with Barkley thrown in to the mix.

Last time I said something like this Wilshere scored two beauties.
