Jamie Vardy is TWENTY-NINE?

There's no fucking way he's not doping.

He had himself a nice few years off while all the youngsters were stunting their growth and picking up career stifling injuries. He's fresh as a daisy.

Nice team goal - the full backs are getting forward well.

Not much for the strikers though so credit to Vardy for his tidy finish.

Sloppy in places passing wise generally but never going to be perfect.

EDIT: Penalty for handball - probably just but a bit unlucky.

Haha, I love the sobering tone of Andy Townsend whenever something bad happens to England.

Vardy moved wide and doesn't see much of the ball thereafter. Waste.

Just a bit sluggish tonight. I'd have Dier, Henderson, Alli and Kane in for Milner, Drinkwater, Barkley and Sturridge from the side that started.

I don't think the level of performance was that much different to that on Saturday to be honest. The Netherlands just didn't have enough of the ball for us to counter and the goals weren't really down to systemic problems. Can't really legislate for a ball hitting a flailing arm being given as a penalty, or a blatant foul being ignored by the ref. My opinion of where we're at hasn't really changed. All we can really take from this is that Milner and Lallana are not as sharp or talented as Barkley and Alli, which we kind of already knew.

We weren't great but Holland were worse, the ref gifted them their two goals. We're a very good counter-attacking side but we'll struggle to break down teams who sit back against us, which could make the group stage fun.

Dont think the 2nd team did anything to warrant a place in the first team after tonight, Milner is rubbish as always and shouldn't be in the squad, how many corners he takes goes straight into keepers hands shocking!, Drinkwater was too lightweight for me and played a few rash passes, dont know why Hoddle gave him man a match award, Walker was poor and didn't link up great with Milner, i thought Rose was poor tonight compared to Saturday and was lucky not give penalty away 1st half, Sturridge was disappointing aswel, only players who did alright tonight was Stones (apart from the slip), Barkley and Vardy. My team for Russia providing everyone available.

Hart
Clyne Stones Smalling Rose
Barkley Dier Alli
Vardy Kane Sterling

67% possession against Holland is pretty unheard of for England, all be it both sides so jumbled up, that's an impressive stat.

Both goals conceded were pretty weird. You'd like to think on average only one of those calls goes against you. Although the far post defending for the second needs looking at.

Anyone with more confidence or ability in front of goal than Theo Walcott scores at least one of his two chances. No idea why we're keen on him from his season.

Yeah, don't think many of those backup players will force their way into the first 11.

In Scotland I see MacRitchie the plastic Jock won them a game.

the loss last night was probably a good thing after beating Germany. adds a bit of realism to proceedings. It was a foul on Jagielka but was a penalty and they should have had another one early on too. Sturridge was anonymous for England yet again. It's like he only cares about playing for Liverpool. he's a completely different player for his club.

Caught up a bit of France vs Russia. France played well, as a watcher of mexican league liked to see Gignac getting this chance, and Russia came up with good counterattacks but let the defence opened while doing it and these were the chances France took advantage to win. Good game.

England are a very weak team in my opinion. The defense is pretty awful, Rose looks good going forward and Stones looks classy on the ball but they are defenders first and they lack experience at international level. The right back position is pretty shambolic Walker is probably about the best defender ahead of Clyne ( how shit is he with the ball) but he is clueless on the ball himself, and just makes pointless runs 95% of the time.

In the midfield we have little bit of class with Alli but for every good thing he does there are 5 that aren't so good. Barkley although good running with the ball is not a midfielder who will create for others consistantly and as for the strikers there all prem level at best. Internationally mediocre all of the squad........it's gona be an early exit thanks to Woy's love of shit Liverpool players.

Flippin' Heck JT, that's the most sense you've made in ages, and whilst I think you're overly scathing on Ali and 'very weak' is a bit OTT, I do largely agree with your points.

Come on now, you wouldn't be giving Alli any credit at all had he signed for Liverpool. ;)

Surely 2 up front. Maybe Sterling in behind them, Alli and Wilshere box to box, Dier sits.

Man Utd fans will be enjoying Wright creaming over Rashford.
