After moans from the elite that is MK Dons fans I've made another thread for teams like ourselves who don't have a realistic chance of breaking into the top four but are fighting it out for the other two spots.

So who's going to finish 5th and 6th? Notts County? Blades? Oldham? Rochdale? Fleetwood? Donny?

We need to strengthen and make sure we don't slip up anymore against teams that we really should be beating at home then we might have a chance of sneaking into 6th place. Realistically though, I think we'll slip away in March time and finish a respectable 10th place.

Our games at Chesterfield next weekend is looking to be quiet important now.

To our pleasant surprise Tairn fans are pondering the possibility, albeit relatively remote, of a return to the second tier for the first time since the Fifties.

We're realistic enough to know it's a very long shot as our squad and finances are probably too limited, but our CEO has said we'll be stronger after the transfer window than before.

And he's never wrong...

Bringing many you Donny lot?

We're anything but assured of a play-off place, it's wide open from 3rd downwards.

You'll be fine, the chasing pack are too inconsistent, hence the gap being formed like it has. Be very suprised if the top 4 changes.

Tbh, despite all my moaning, I think we will start picking up again now. A great signing in Johnson who hopefully can hit the ground running and preferably another one this week with Garns back late Feb and we will be reyt.

Have you dropped too far behind the 3 above? If we win our game in hand and match you until then we will be 10 points ahead I think .

We only need to look behind us now, we're absolutely cack.

Zero chance of making up the gap above us.

Agreed. City have already pissed away a 10 point lead this season, can't see them doing it again. I have thought all along that Swindon would fall away a-la Orient but I can't see it now, they look too good. MK Dons seem to going for it this year and have made some cracking signings. Can't see them fucking it up either. Think we will have a battle for 4th with ourselves.

Think we need a pacey striker who can beat a man and we will practically be complete for the season, only thing that could undo us would Fielding getting injured as Richards has had 0 game time, but I expect we would loan someone in. We've lost 3 games this season, main reason we haven't pulled away is winnable games we've drawn, could name a few which if we win our game in hand could have seen us a good 7 points clear, but that's football. Hopefully we just continue as we are, can't see all 3 of us, Swindon and MK keeping this pace up.

TomPNE94 worse places to be than pretty much a confirmed play off spot...

If we continue to play as we have done in the last 3/4 league games, it is far from confirmed!

If you don't get play offs this season it would be pretty much as bad as your previous play off fails

Absolutely. It would actually be easier and fairer for all involved for us to finish 7th. Not fair on the 2 teams who don't get to beat us in the semis

It's a tough one. On the one hand, I'd love to see us at Wembley and in a one-off game anything can happen. On the other hand, we would definitely lose because it's us in the play-offs, so I could save a lot of monies and hedge my bets on the JPT next year :D

You could say the same about a number of ours and I am sure Swindon Town's games though.
My point is that we've lost the lead meaning a draw more times where as Swindon appear to have scored to get the draw more ofen than lose the lead.

Chesterfield won't be worrying this thread for much longer, very dirty and very crap.

The ref won it for them yesterday.

It was your team that was kicking ours in the air and doing the wrestling moves.
We were awful yesterday and you still couldn't beat us.
