But 'punished' wasn't the question in the poll. The BBC poll suggested violent repercussions, 68% is low on that sense.

What was encouraging is 93% believe they should abide by British laws. Though 11% sympathising with people fighting against the West isn't exactly encouraging.

"Sympathise" is a vague term though. I have a modicum of sympathy for a few terrorist organisations. Doesn't mean I think they're in the right or that their actions are fully justified.

Something I read suggested that more British Muslims feel loyalty to Britain than anywhere else.

Are you sure that it wasn't that they were more likely to identify as British (as opposed to English, Scottish, Welsh or Irish) than a white Briton would?

When asked by a year 12 pupil whether there was anything wrong with being a Muslim he said "yes, because we are fighting them".

BNP spokesman Simon Darby said: "It is disappointing," adding "we would have liked him not to have had any sanctions at all".

"If you step out of line and criticise liberal multi-culturalism then you lose your job, so we don't have freedom of speech," he said.


He doesn't belong any recognised church, just his own with only him in it.
