I’m sure many Stones fans are still scarred by the dreadful decisions the club took in the early 90s when they left Lower Mead and groundshared with Watford, a decision that almost destroyed the club and are glad that their club is proceeding cautiously and prudently.

Well we have slowly clawed our way back mainly due to fans putting their hands in their pockets and doing groundworks since we moved to The Vale.

We did change tact slightly in appointing Peter Marsden (ex Accrington Stanley) as chairman, who did invest heavily but also spent all the reserves the social club had built up. This was nipped in the bud 2 years ago by the board ousting him and the present chairman taking over.

And the fans have raised a hell of a lot this year, and no point wasting money and their goodwil in spending it needlessly.

You know, now would seem a good time to cut and run, let the Mickey Mousers fall away into the non league abyss, while the real clubs round ourselves up into a 5th division of the Football League. We're in. :ds:

How anyone can defend the NL board is beyond me, the whole thing is a total cluster fuck, the allocation of the grant money, the way the organisation of the vote.
The confusion over what happened in January, when I'm sure if clubs had known there were no more grants available the season would never have started.
No wonder the NL chairman has vanished so as not to be answerable.

All clubs had 28 days to decide what to do. Why didn't the rebel 19 get together before the actual vote, asking for any amendments to be included. Nobody did anything until the vote was concluded, then decided they didn't like the result. Tough luck, but think about the other 24 clubs (yes, the majority) who aren't bankrolled by sugar daddies, who will now be saved to play again next season.

Team that votes against resolution one 'that clubs should have an equal say in how their divisions are decided' now believes that teams at level 2 should have equal vote in how the divisions are decided.

Many straws are being clutched and the people benefiting? Well at the moment it only seems to be that QC Dorking have instructed.

Who's defending the board? The clubs voted on it, they voted to end the season!

I find it incredible that the play on clubs are intimating that some who voted for null and void want to play now. When the original resolutions were put forward clubs were told to expect normal revenue streams by 1st April, we now know that is not going to be even by the end of May. So I would envisage more clubs would vote to N&V.

In 2009/10 following the introduction of NLS & NLN there was a complete re rewrite of the leagues articles of association.
In those amended articles of association it actually states that rules can only be amended by way of a special resolution.
So as much as it saddens me in terms of voting process for resolutions to end the respective leagues they may have an argument but in terms of resolution 1 those articles of association I talk about clearly point out that each NL club have one vote and the two feeder leagues have 4 votes.
Unless I have missed something or the resolutions 2-4 weren’t considered to be rule changes then this cluster f*** aint ending any time soon

Curtailed, not null and voided. Whether there will be any difference between the two, who knows?
The suggestion seems to be that the restructure at that level which was planned for this season (but delayed due to last season being made N & V) may go ahead, as there's a reluctance to keep on delaying that. For that to work would mean some teams at Step 5 would have to be promoted to Step 4 to make the 8th league at that level, so exactly how that would work if it does occur would be interesting to see.

For Yaxley's sake, I'm hoping it does happen as the changes at Step 4 would see a notable reduction in our travel for away games, and anything that will save the club money in the current climate will be very welcome (even if, on paper, the teams in our new league would on average be stronger than our current opposition).

We’ve taken out a loan today. First time we’ve been in debt since reforming. Doesn’t sound very promising...

The pound shop Glenn Tamplin is back with yet another video

He seems to think the FA will allow them to continue with a 14-15 team league and 3 teams will be promoted into the national league

Our manager has insinuated that talks are going on behind the scenes also. Could be nothing like

A lot of upset going down through the leagues as well. With all steps 3 down null and void. Teams looking at they can appeal.
Unusual circumstances should really mean unusual decisions outside of the box.

What's not promising about it? Being able complete and compete to the end of the season? How AWFUL! We have a very prudent board of directors, they won't borrow recklessly, they'll borrow the minimum the club can reasonably afford. I dread to think what state we'd be in right now if our idiot fans had ever got control of the club. :ds:

Complete the season to finish mid table and saddle the club with debt, sounds promising

Rowed back it seems from the threats of legal action.

The only thing I thought was even close to a good idea was IF, a north v south league is formed as a one off then results stand. No way should they even consider 3 promotions but there is one vacancy that could be filled
Having said that can’t quite see how , unless proved unlawful how the voting on the special and other resolutions can be ignored

Finally when he says that idiots were suggesting that legal action had been started well when you read comments from Gloucester saying just that then it’s not surprising

This is exactly the point I was trying to make. We are too inconsistent to make the playoffs therefore it seems pointless raking up the debts. Yes, we have been extremely unlucky with injuries but still doesn't hide the fact the rest of the team are too hot and cold.

I'd reluctantly run with the injury-hit squad for the remainder of the season and not waste any money on signings trying in vain to make the playoffs. I just can't see it. Really hope this loan is a small one, the last thing we want is to start back at square one in the glue leagues. The one thing that gives me hope is the new chairman is very prudent when it comes to his money so I have faith this time around.

Oh well, let's not bother then huh? For fucks sake, thank Christ Pete Wild doesn't think like that.

I'd rather finish mid-table financially sound than spending money we don't have and going bust again. But I agree to an extent, Wild has definitely got the right mentality but in the same sentence, we can't spend money we don't have.
