This is exactly the point I was trying to make. We are too inconsistent to make the playoffs therefore it seems pointless raking up the debts. Yes, we have been extremely unlucky with injuries but still doesn't hide the fact the rest of the team are too hot and cold.

I'd reluctantly run with the injury-hit squad for the remainder of the season and not waste any money on signings trying in vain to make the playoffs. I just can't see it. Really hope this loan is a small one, the last thing we want is to start back at square one in the glue leagues. The one thing that gives me hope is the new chairman is very prudent when it comes to his money so I have faith this time around.
Isn't this loan to enable you to pay the players you've got rather than to splash out on new signings?

Exactly what I'm trying to get at. Some of our fans begging for signings due to all the injuries we have but we clearly can't afford to. Suspect if we do make any it will be non-contract or loanees with the parent club paying all the wages

King’s Lynn asking players to take pay cut:

Article also includes this:

“Lynn were expected to call a halt to their season after Saturday’s game and it is not yet known whether they will fulfil their fixture at Notts County on Tuesday night, and possibly the rest of the season.

“A decision is expected to be announced on Monday.”

This comes from chairman of kings Lynn who fought for ppg game system last season,he accused us of using corona virus as an excuse to not play Altrincham because we were top, even though if we would of won we would of had a higher ppg ratio.
Play on and keep integrity of league like you fought for last season.

I wouldn't expect much in the way of morality from the man, he has a long history of defrauding investors in his wine businesses after all

Exactly. How is he even allowed to own the club? Bloke is a crook.

Halifax fans have started a donation scheme called "the big support" to help after taking out a loan to complete the season. So far raising £1,400 in the first 48 hours. It's been really inspiring to see how quickly the fans decided to offer up their support as the club only stated about the loan last week.

Article in the Daily Mail suggesting that King’s Lynn need 300k to finish the season, which seems... a lot!?!

Solihull stated that they needed 450k. Must be paying good wages.

Presumably that includes overheads, business rates, end of the furlough scheme etc rather than just wages?

Heard we have turned a loan move down for one of our players because we’re going to need him?
Hope this means North/South are carrying on with promotion/relegation.

Hopefully. Be nice to get York up here. At the same time. The teams that refuse to play in our league will therefore be relegated.

If it goes ahead we will find a way to cock it up.
It annoys me when teams are shit and avoid relegation,
For what it’s worth don’t believe York are good enough to go up but believe clubs should be able to play on.

Wouldn't have been surprised if the loan offer was from us. We know 3 of them from last season. We are also a bit light on players

How is Green doing watched one game on tv and didn’t seem to do much by his standards.
Green and Ferguson were never replaced the latter was best player in North.

He's got a hell of an engine I'll say that. He's actually done pretty well. He didn't start off great but he's adapted since then to the higher level.

I don't think he is currently playing in his natural position though. He's playing in a midfield 2 currently because of injuries. I think he'd rather be in as a number 10 but he's behind Jack Earing in the pecking order for that role.

Even if he's not having his best game what I admire about him though is he's always on 100% effort.

I doubt the 18 will get four promotion places, nor should they, but essentially there will be two places available in the NL to cover Macclesfield and Dover.

I doubt KL will call it a day. The article in the Mail seems to suggest that clubs have been told , as long as they complete the season, there will not be any relegation.

Wealdstone will definitely complete the season.

Scored the equaliser tonight against Hartlepool not the first time he's scored from a set piece this season either.

Were you not in the play offs pre Christmas. I didn't know you'd fallen as far down as you have since then. Your below us for christ sake :pmsl:

Not sure about the playoffs but we would have been comfortably midtable at least. Since that win at Halifax back on November 10th we've only won two league games.

Well, this is an interesting if not expected turn of events, with 15-20 clubs from the North and South supposedly having registered interest in competing in this new joint league.

I assume that promotion from such a league would only be to fill the vacancy definitely left by Macclesfield and most likely set to be left by Dover (whenever their situation is addressed), but it'll be interesting to see exactly what happens if this is approved. At the very least, would fixtures already played between sides entering this joint league count, or would they have to start entirely from scratch and somehow finish 14-19 fixtures in 2 months?

The other question, of course, is who exactly those 15-20 clubs are, though most can probably be inferred from the previous round of voting. Expect it'll include Gloucester, Dorking, Fylde, Dartford and York at the very least, along with whoever else voted to play on (though I could see some of the teams who wanted to play on dropping out for travel reasons potentially).

EDIT: Concord Rangers chairman confirms that they at least don't intend to compete in this new competition if it does go through, despite voting to continue the season before.

The Hungerford chairman has confirmed the same.

I'd imagine it looks a bit like this atm:

North:
Fylde
York
Boston
Kidderminster
Gloucester
Chorley

South:
Dorking
Dartford
Eastbourne
Oxford City
St Albans
Hampton & Richmond
Ebbsfleet
Havany & Waterlooville
Hemel Hempstead
Chelmsford
Welling

Unsures:
Brackley
Tonbridge
Billericay

Some hefty travelling in there 300 miles between Eastbourne and Fylde

I hope the teams in the NLN & NLS who push for the season to continue do not end up crying bankruptcy if they continue the season and fail to achieve promotion. Seems as a lot of clubs are pinning their hopes and bank balances on promotion. Can see a lot of teams going out of business.

No chance of Tonbridge, Hampton or Billericay taking part in this, all 3 voted null & void and have been vocal that they can't continue without grants.

Also find it funny how Eastbourne are pushing for this, when before the season started they was considering dropping out the league because they couldn't afford to play without any income.
