Anyway thought we were excellent today. They’ve got a championship squad and we more than matches them today. Play like we did today in our final league games and we’ll go up. Proper proud of everyone associated with the club and can hopefully have a great end to the season.

I genuinely thought we were the better side today and played the better football. One moment of class from McGeady won it for Sunderland, but if Vaughan had been available I think we could easily have won that match given the number of quality balls we put into the box. This side is certainly streets ahead of the one that was promoted in 2019.

Ah well, thirteen more displays like that and we will go up automatically.

yep....Tranmere played well, doing better this season than i thought you would and are one of the best three sides of the league.
On the downside you have some fans with big chips on the shoulders who wont say what i have just said about Bolton.

I’ve always been a fan of Keith Hill from his Rochdale days. Whether or not we’re the best team in the league is open to debate. As things stand we are certainly one of the better ones.

There are some good things coming from Bolton... Most sensible Rovers fans, like those who post on here, were prepared to give him time to settle in and recognised that it was often harder to take over a winning side than one in difficulties. He did get flak for an over cautious approach against your team when we had a man advantage, but regardless of whether we go up would expect a contract extension if Keith's up for it.

There was a hysterical reaction to Hill's appointment from a minority of fans due to his Bolton connection and because he was not the big name they were expecting. However, I think a lot of supporters were concerned (well I was anyway) after about ten games that we did not have a settled system or style of play and performances were patchy.

However, things suddenly clicked for Hill in a victory against Forest Green and we have not looked back since. I am sure he will be here next season even if we miss out in the play offs. We are averaging two points per game and Palios is big on statistics and won't get rid of a manager who has maintained automatic promotion form since his appointment.

The reaction from some quarters of the Tranmere fanbase to Hill's appointment was at best bizarre and at worst vitriolic. I never understood why they were so quick to turn on our owners, and it did real harm.

Thankfully, that's slowly turning into a bad memory and a few have had to eat humble pie. Hill has won over his doubters, and reassured those of us who preferred to give him a chance.
