So the shitshow is back, with a new, less commercially viable, veneer. A trophy so pointless that it was won by $alford on FIFA20 last season. Groups have been announced, is it just me or are the groups the exact same season after season? Getting sick of the sight of Fleetwood and we've never even been in the same division as them.

Southern Groups

Colchester, Portsmouth, Southend
MK Dons, Northampton, Stevenage
Exeter
, FGR, Swindon
Wimbledon, Charlton, Orient
Crawley
, Gillingham, Ipswich
Bristol Rovers, Oxford, Walsall
Cheltenham
, Newport, Plymouth
Burton, Cambridge, Peterborough

Groups of three to be joined by one of the following B-teams (yet to be drawn)
Arsenal, Brighton, Chelsea, Fulham, Norwich, Southampon, WBA, West Ham

Northern Groups

Carlisle, Fleetwood, Sunderland
Bolton, Crewe, Shrewsbury
Mansfield, Lincoln, Scunthorpe
Accrington, Barrow, Blackpool
Morecambe, Rochdale, $alford
Vale
, Tranmere, Wigan
Bradford, Doncaster, Oldham
Grimsby
, Harrogate, Hull

Groups of three to be joined by one of the following B-teams (yet to be drawn)
Villa, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Man City, Man United, Newcastle, Wolves

They seem to have made an exception for the North and allowed Man U to enter both a B team and a C team, the latter being put in a group with Morecambe and Rochdale.

Rumours these may be trial events for fans too... so maybe appealing.

Actually not a bad group with yourselves and Wigan. Us v Wigan could just be a complete boycott in terms of fans given both of the clubs feelings towards the EFL at present!

It can only be a good thing covid-wise if they're thinking of letting fans back into grounds, but there's nothing appealing about it at all. This sorry excuse for a cup should be boycotted by fans of the lower league clubs at all costs.

As some of you may know, an ifollow season pass gives you access to these games (or at least, they did do that last year) and yet I still refused to watch one single minute of any chuckatinpot match, even though I was aware that I was paying for the err 'privilege'.

NO to B-teams and NO to League 3.

Fucking ridiculous, there's already loads of games to fit in as it is and pretty much everyone's running with smaller squads, so why is this still happening when they've ditched FA Cup replays?

#EveryGameMatters. Fuck off.

Depends how knowledgable the average pie-eater is about the political ramblings of a competition that hasn't been on their radar for years. When Sunderland came down, their fans totally didn't read the memo and instead were all 'Haway we're ganna play Newcastle again, let's get behind the lads', similarly when Lincoln came up and eyeballed it as a key part of the quadruple they were gonna win under the Cowleys.

Grimsby, Scunny and Hull could have been an interesting group so obviously they didn't do that.

Any reason why they totally ignored playing the final?

So has last year's final finally been cancelled? Salford and Portsmouth deserve an explanation. I understand their supporters haven't been offered a refund as of yet?

They are also doing the draw today that has already been 75% completed? And no doubt these have been fixed geographically. Anyone else a bit confused?

And they're promoting this competition ahead of the League Cup by staggering the competition throughout the season when fans may be back in grounds?

What another great opportunity for our B-team to get some experience. Cant wait to see how our next crop of 16 year olds are getting on.

Well, bit of a long story but let's see. It begins around January, in China...

Every other competition was or is being completed. There was/is no reason for the final to not be played. If I were Salford or Pompey Id be asking for the winners money.

They are waiting until crowds can be let back in stadiums, they don’t want to refund the ticket money yet.

I'd much rather Hull came down or we both went up than have that in this shite. Annoying that only the second competitive game against Hull in supporting life is gonna be in this again. L1 with us, you, the Mudrats, Lincoln and Donny would be class.

Both MUFC junior teams now playing Morecambe and Rochdale.

Difficult to boycott if you can't go anyway!

No it's not difficult to boycott.

1. Ground capacity at say Blundell Park will be restricted to (at a guess) 2000 home fans. Grimsby do not get anywhere near that figure for the tinpot cup games so I'm sure you'll be able to watch the home games if you want to.

2. Do not fork out a tenner to watch a live stream of the match, though I fully expect a match pass to cost more than that this season. I'm thinking 15 quid.

3. If you have a season pass - and it doesn't matter whether you're really overseas or accessing the site through a vpn - do not log in to watch the match because the clubs and ifollow do know how many fans are watching the game. The lower the number the better of course

Better than nothing at this point. I highly doubt we will get promoted this year so I think you might have to have that fun in L1 without us.

Couldn't give a fuck if we lost all 3 games just use it play the fringe players.

Liverpool kids might be intriguing! We’ve beaten all the B teams so far we’ve faced conceding only once but this might to tougher!

They will be quite an experienced side there youngsters as they will have had loan spells away playing a few games and may have featured in a few cups games so it would be tough. Then there's always the chance of a player like salah gettjng injured and needing games so they throw him in unlikely but could happen. I think Wigan and tranmere will be more interested in promotion than winning this.
