I reckon this will be our toughest game to date. We may have played Portsmuff and Plimuff already but those were both at the very start of the season before they hit their strides. Donny are pretty much in their stride and despite a couple of away defeats, are unbeaten at home winning all but one. We'll have to be on top form to get anything and I'd be fairly satisfied with a draw.

That said, when you look at who Doncaster have actually played, it may be argued they've had a fairly easy start to the season, beating struggling Newport, Yeovil, Cambridge and Cheltenham as well as 'supposed-to-be-struggling' Morecambe; but coming unstuck aganst top-half Accrington, Crewe and Luton.

Pompey have won every home game too, except against us :shifty:

A very tough game, and I'd definitely take a point right now. I do think we're capable of getting all three, but we'll have to work very hard.

It's gotta be 4-2-3-1, surely. Devitt has looked bright recently and I hope he starts with Adams and Lambe behind Miller or Wyke.

1-1. Devitt, Coppinger.

The Doncaster forum makes for amusing reading. I've picked out the best bits.
Only 8 games in and I reckon we are nailed on to get promoted. And to be honest, if we don't get promoted out of this league it would be an absolute disaster.
I don't think we're a great team by any stretch of the imagination, but at this level, I can see us going up comfortably.
I can't disagree with a word. (to the above)
Haven't been for a while but was shocked at the pace of the game bordering on being pedestrian and the quality a notch above Sunday league.
it's easy to open them up, I wouldn't be surprised to go Luton and score a few
I've never seen such total garbage in all my life. The standard of football is crap.
Automatic promotion at worst, but champions should be our aim.
the only way Fergie can put that right is by winning the League Two title with 100 points or more. I don't think we've seen anything to suggest this squad isn't capable of that.
there is absolutely no reason why this squad shouldn't be putting the title to bed before the last 3 games.

I haven't checked the league's top scorers for a few weeks - I assume Dan Holman has hit triple figures already by now?

It's a common attitude among fans of clubs who have suffered quick relegations. Games against much better teams are still fresh in the memory and I think they use that as a yardstick without perhaps noticing that the reason their club is down here is because this is now the level they're fit for.

And we were playing better at the start of the season than we are now. We're very average at the moment. I agree it's our toughest game and I'm expecting our first defeat, a draw would be a good result.

Yesterday's 3 points takes a bit of pressure off. If we hadn't stopped the rot and were still without a win, we'd be going to Doncaster with the pressure of needing to win. Now we can go there, hopefully improve our performance compared to recently and nick a decent draw.

We came unstuck at Accrington and Crewe due to not putting away the numerous clear cut chances we created as for our home form I would say flattering to say the least we haven't looked convincing. We have the players to be promoted what we don't have is a manager capable of achieving it, I honestly expect to get beat.

Maybe if your players are still feeling the effects of playing 112 minutes going down to Luton at the weekend. What was the length of the game like? I mean obviously in theory they only play 90 minutes and the rest is stoppages, but being out on the pitch for that length of time can't be ideal and I presume that they'd have had to keep themselves warmed up during long stoppages.

I was just reading that too, some of those Donny fans are bordering on embarrassing. I said pre-season a few of their fans were arrogant online saying they think this'll be a breeze.

I'd take a point, but I'd love all three.

I remember a couple of the Cheltenham fans being pretty arrogant too, but they seem to have gone quiet for some reason.

On my way there now. The general feeling is this is where the unbeaten run ends. Saturday's win means it won't be disastrous to lose tonight, better to win 1 then lose the next than draw both.

Doncaster 2-0 Carlisle

Fergie still alive?

What a failure Sir Alex needs to abort this one real quick.

Make Doncaster great again! We need to get rid of these Scottish migrants Dickov, Ferguson, Strachan.

6-1 Carlisle as we have the worse manager in the league.

2-1 down after being 1-0 up. We look OK in the final third but defensively were an absolute shambles, all over the place, the worst defensive display I've seen this season and I include our 2 defensive midfielders in that. Giving the ball away far too cheaply. Woeful, shit, unorganised, slow paced, lethargic, spew.

Didn't you know? They're currently in League 1, they got promotion in August simply for being able to name Holman on their team sheet.

Maybe it's because they are being put under more pressure than they have so far this season. To be fair you look a good side.

2-2. Would have taken that beforehand.

Looked much better when we switched to 3-5-2

Superb point, I said I'd take that pre-match. 10 unbeaten and 1 point off 2nd place, happy with that.

Ferguson reckons we're the best team they've played so far this season, as do some fans on their board.

Interesting. Between us taking the lead and their penalty miss I thought we looked all over the place. First 20 minutes and last 20-30 minutes we did look a decent team

You looked all over the place because we made you look that way as you did to us in the last half hour, definitely the best team we have faced so far.

We have to pray Ferguson is involved in the corruption scandal.

Off with his head!
