Had some proper scraps in the late 80's and early 90's and i mean off the pitch,us older fans of both teams will remember those days. The heart of the rivalry was after my time and I can't see that it will mean much to anyone who started to going to games in the last few years.

I can't really ever see it flaring back up properly in these days of identiquote manager interviews and (at least from our side) very few real characters on the pitch.

If O'Nein plays he can be a right cheeky little wind-up gobshite, but other than that (and opposition defenders bouncing off Akinfenwa) precious few of our players play to the crowd much.

1 win in 12 league games now including the last 8 games of last season,christ 2 seasons ago we had 1 win in 17 under Ainsworth as well.

That's an awful stat. I've only seen 2 games so far but it certainly doesn't look like anything's changed for the better. Still too early to worry and we have players to come back from the treatment room. But think I'm around a 3/10 on the worry-o-meter, give it another 5 games without improvement and I'd hit a 5/10.

Problem is nothing will change under Ainsworth,he never admits he got anything wrong but his starting XI's are bizarre to say the least.Too many older players does us no favours and i can't believe Wood starts nearly every game.Our crowds are diminishing rapidly as well because of shit hoofball/time wasting and feigning injuries,i'm not saying we should play like Barcelona but at least let's play football to entertain once in a while.

Some of our younger fans who weren't even alive when the rivalry was at it's height tried to attack 2 Colchester fans near the hourglass pub but there were too many old bill about so they fucked off,those brave little boys were the only ones trying to kick off so it was much calmer than expected.
