I thought it was a pretty good PPV, tag match was great as was Ambrose/Harper, that was very entertaining and to be honest for me Reigns and Big Show was MOTN, I really enjoyed it, ending has been done before with Del Rio but still was good. Orton/Rollins got good time as well and wasnt as slow as some cage matches are, hell Kane is starting to entertain me again. Divas match was pretty good as well, Naomi is great to watch in the ring. I didnt see Cena/Rusev, was trying to find the next link and I accidentally skipped to the end of the match to see Cena celebrating so I thought screw it and didnt watch.

you pretty much watched the Cena match then :err:

The next nxt takeover is struggling for talent

Sami zayn out for several months
A-ri out after knee surgery
Kevin Owens a doubt
And now video itami is potentially out for 7-8 Mo this with a shoulder injury

Maybe Samoa Joe will be rushed into his debut, but with it only 2 weeks away I doubt it

Whoa, Zayns actually out for a couple of months now is he? I'm guessing this is from Raw? Fuck. Must have been such a mixture of emotions... gets a Raw debut against Cena for the US title but injures himself in his own fucking enthusiasm and now he's out. Damn.

I think they have enough to make it work still, Balor Vs Breeze number one contenders match as the main event with Samoa Joe taking everyone out? Yes.

Come on people this is NXT, they will make shit into gold.

They'll have Sasha v Becky probably go an extra 10 mins, and it's definitely got potential to be one of the most womens matches we've seen in the WWE if that's the case.

Balor v Breeze will be awesome. Even if they have Owens in as a Triple Threat, it'll be easy to have Owens knocked down for the majority of the match so he doesn't take much punishment. Have Balor win the belt and then Owens can get the surgery he needs. Then we have a killer Balor v Breeze feud, followed by a Balor v Samoa Joe feud before Zayn comes back.

Payback this week and then Elimination Chamber in 2 weeks? That will be 3 PPV's in 7 weeks. Why the overkill? Is there a long gap next month or something?

Edit - Looking at the site itself, it's not listing it as a PPV, but I got a notification from the network the other day saying 'Elimination Chamber returns on May 31st' live on the WWE Network?

Yeah, was going to be a house show but they realised that it was in an arena that can take the weight of the chamber, so they decided to make it into a network only PPV. Two chamber matches, one for the IC title and the other, interestingly, for the tag team titles, which'll be something new and fresh. It's not really a PPV so much as just a special show.

I can imagine WWE doing more stuff like this moving forwards... first the KOTR, now this.

Tonight's card looks decent, apart from the I Quit match, shame it's on a throw away PPV.

Rollins vs Reigns vs Orton vs Ambrose (WWE Title)
John Cena vs Rusev (I Quit)
Cesaro & Kidd vs The New Day (2 out of 3 falls)
Dolph Ziggler vs Sheamus
Barrett vs Neville
Ryback vs Bray Wyatt

Doubt I'll watch any of it, but my brother probably will.

Yeah I enjoyed the KOTR network special and I've always loved the chamber matches so this should be interesting.

How they doing the tag EC? Individually or in the pods together?

The title match tonight should be good but can't help but feel they should've waited a while and done the whole Shield triple threat thing at a bigger event.

WWE have such a good opportunity to really build Rusev as their next monster heel (after Lesnar eventually leaves) by having him make Cena tap out. They won't though.

I think the tag titles match will steal the show.

The I Quit match was great - the whole pyro-spot was a bit shit though.

Getting bored of WWE and not really watched it properly since WM. and this is the reason why...hopefully,

I swear I haven't watched Payback, I never watch PPV's live as they're on too late, but i'll make a prediction, and if I'm right it'll show just how predictable WWE is...

Cena obviously won, and Lana said 'I quit' on Rusev's behalf.

Thought it was a good PPV for all the obvious results. Wyatt v Ryback was a surprisingly good match. The main event had some awesome moments, especially the mini Shield reunion. Wish Kane would f*ck off though. Odd ending too.

And I love New Day. Woods cracks me up.

I thought Payback was alright, but why the fuck did Rusev not win that I Quit match when Cena passed out? Did these people not see Austin/Hart at Wrestlemania 13? They seemed to stress the whole "he has to get him to say I quit, nothing else can stop the match" thing, yet, the whole "quitting on somebodies behalf" thing did count. Pretty shit consistency with the rules there, which kind of sucks just one month removed from the whole "RKO ban" stuff last PPV.

But yeah, really good fatal fourway as we all knew it would be. The triple powerbomb spot was great.

Overall, very obvious PPV results-wise (not a single surprise that I can think of) but it was still good enough.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
The only thing I don't understand from the outside just reading the reviews is why have they as such completely and utterly buried Rusev with Cena.

could you imagine if back in the day Angle came in and within afew months fought the Rock and lost for 2-3 months straight, although I suppose they did at times used to do that back in 2000/2001 with Undertaker and it got annoying.

I could understand them keeping Cena strong as he's their beloved love-child, but you'd think over 6-7 matches and 2-3 months they could have spared the new guy at least one positive moment.

oh well I suppose WWE fans don't even bat an eyelid to it anymore really.

Well, they did give Rusev one positive moment, he beat Cena at Fastlane. Plus I guess they're going for a "he never quit" angle in the I Quit match, he comes out as the only man Cena couldn't make quit, so he doesn't look all that bad.

And god damn there's the spoiler for Raw. That would have probably been awesome if I didn't know it was coming. Cheers.

There is an edit button. Just saying.

Ah ok then, I'll have to take your word for it.

But if I feel it's ruined, expect to see me at your door one dark evening shouting KILL OAF KILL.

 Lame. Ok then, never mind.

For Rusev, read Bray Wyatt last year.
I know the whole thing is 'if your facing the top guy your getting a rub off them anyway so it doesn't matter if you win or lose', but shit they have thrown Rusev under the bus here. Not only Rusev, but how about the guys who couldn't beat Rusev. Swagger? Henry? Big Show? All these guys. Fighting for their country. Not only does Cena win the US Title and beat Rusev, which is fine. But he beats him OVER and OVER and OVER again. Yeah Rusev won at Fast Lane, but that was February. This is now May and Rusev's character has taken a huge hit now.

I'd have had Cena win the US Title at Mania and then keep him the fuck away from Rusev until at least Summerslam, when they can have a re match. Then in the meantime have Rusev get his dominance back in a few feuds against guys like Ziggler, Ambrose & Neville. Then it doesn't really matter if Cena wins again at Summerslam, because Rusev hasn't been losing non stop for 3 damn months.

It's frankly lazy booking. Instead of 'CENA FEUD WITH RUSEV FOR 3 WHOLE MONTHS WITH 4 PPV MATCHES', have Cena feud with Rusev til Mania, then they go away and come back at Summerslam for the re match. Simple booking which benefits both guys.
