Not sure it’s been much harder more like slightly. We’ve played a lot of the same teams and You’ve played Boreham Wood whereas we played Bromley which is basically the same.

Only one that stands out from yours in comparison is Wrexham.

Our last ten league games includes the win over you haha. Plus Bromley, Solihull, Grimsby, Dagenham, Boreham Wood and Wrexham. It’s taken us a very long time to play ten games.

No need for us to post in here until Paul Hurst leaves this football club

In the Kebab house on Castle Street near the ground yesterday. Fans in there discussing who's likely to challenge.

Lad mentions how well Boreham Wood are doing

I say Chesterfield are still in a great position

Another lad mentions Wrexham and their ability to spend to add to their squad

Somebody else chimes up "what about Halifax?"

The whole place falls into hysterics. Even the guy who said it realises what he's said and breaks into a chuckle. Asian lad behind the counter, barely a word of English laughing away shouting "Halifax! Halifax! Pete Wild!?"

Some of this story may not be true.

But the fact it could be is testimony to just how little a threat Halifax Town actually are.

If we win the league after what’s happened this week I would be amazed.

Gotta agree, but I expect Chesterfield will still finish comfortably in the playoffs. Stockport are the heavy favourites, but if they fall away when they start facing teams with a pulse it'll be ourselves, Boreham Wood and Notts County there to pick up the pieces. No one can really afford even a slight dip in form now, as at least one of these teams will go on a crazy run from here and take the title.

I can't see beyond the current top 6 and Notts county for play off places. What order they are in and who is in top spot is anyones guess (I've said Stockport from day 1)

if Halifax's injury crisis goes on or gets worse they could drop out, same with Bromley and Bwood if they have losses to key players as it will be harder for them to absorb them. But all three teams look better that the ones just outside the play offs who youd think would be the likely replacements- Solihull, Daggers and Grimsby.

You never know with the National league though. It should be a close contest this year. Right to the wire.

We will need to bounce back immediately on Saturday and then make sure we get points from our double headers against Stockport and Notts county. Personally I can’t see us maintaining form - not with a black cloud looming over the club. If by some grace it gets sorted this week, Rowe departs and we make a good appointment then it could happen. I can’t see Rowe keeping his job.

Reckon Stockport to win it, with ourselves going up through the playoffs.

I’d fancy us against any of you lot at Wembley. They should let us play all of the rest of our league games there IMO.

Horrible spongy surface at Wembley. Is the play off final played there at this level? Wasn’t last years at fucking Ashton Gate?

If it was Notts vs us it would probably be at Derby / Leicester / Sheffield clubs.

Based on the sample of the three times we've been there we can beat proper teams at Wembley. Tin potters like North Ferriby and Newport will beat us every time.

We’ve been quite fortunate with injuries this season up until the last week or so in all fairness but to lose your best 2 midfielders and top scorer all at once is just really unfortunate. That would kill any team really.

If...and that's a very big if...we make it to the playoffs I reckon I'd be alright with facing off against Halifax or Wrexham. Neither team looked any better than us over the course of both our games with them both really, from what I saw.

Stockport will now fly away and win the title by 5-10 points. Wrexham will finish 2nd and win play offs, momentum is key from this period on.

You wouldn't beat us at our place in my opinion. If we finish 2nd or 3rd, I would be very surprised if we don't go on to Wembley from there. I suspect we will look very strong for the run in as well, with the extra players we're bringing in this month.

Consensus from those I spoke to who went to both tends to be that you didn't necessarily look any worse last night than you did for the game at BP, but we looked far better. It was easily the highest quality game I've seen this season involving us.

Hmmm, the fact that we scored 3 at BP and effectively kept a clean sheet (your goal shouldn't have stood) would suggest to me that we were a fair bit worse last night. That aside, it's very very obvious that we're worse now that when we met towards the start of the season. We also pulled you apart at times at Blundell Park, case in point being Taylor's equaliser. I'm by no means saying we're a better team as we're not...case in point being the table! If you don't improve your midfield and we can regain some of our early season form (which we'd need to be doing to get in the playoffs) then I'd be quietly confident against you.

Two of the players playing against Grimsby at BP arent even with us anymore (they arent dead theyve just moved on). We are altogether a better side now- our form was very patchy back then but since November we've been winning the majority of games. We still aren't playing particularly brilliantly but we win more games than we don't now. So I wouldn't read too much into any of our performances back then.

With that Justin McAtee in their side they can beat ANYONE ANYWHERE.

If fairness he looked a tidy technical player.

We are improving as the season goes on, that's what you want. We look solid now and have some character in the side.

Or it may suggest that last night we were more defensively sound than we were at BP. Pretty sure a number of your fans said your performance last night was better than as of late.

Of late as in over the last 15 matches or is probably what they were getting at. We arguably played better in both Halifax matches and against Alty so only Bromley was a worse performance in our last 5. All I'm saying is I'd take my chances against you lot or Halifax as opposed to Chesterfield, Stockport or Borehamwood going off what I've seen.

This is what my gut is telling me.

I am assuming the worst for us however.

I'd be happy to face Grimsby if it came to that, what with winning more than half our games against them in modern times and losing only twice. They're practically cannon fodder. :bdick:
