Hill has made us harder to beat but it's so difficult to win games with such poor quality in the team.

3 wins in our last 40 games, it's so grim.
Millen has also made us harder to beat, but it’s the same with us, such poor quality in the team means it’s almost impossible to win.

I do think we’re worse however as I see more goals in Scunthorpe currently, plus we were worse in the game we played against you. I’d also trust Hill to make the necessary signings in January to sort it out, where as we probably won’t.

If his transfer window dealings while with us are any guide, I would not trust Keith Hill to get anything right in January.

Think we’re still under an embargo which will prevent us from signing anyone unless we let a few go. Even then we’re only able to sign players on £800pw or less I believe. Little to no chance of us making any squad improvements under those conditions. Back in the bottom two now and hard to see a way out.

Well we have absolutely zero money to spend due to our tiny budget, we cannot pay the kind of wages good players at this level demand.

Hill won't be able to bring anyone in of any sort of quality and that won't be his fault, we just can't afford it.

We do have a transfer embargo but I think that ends 1st Jan but if not we can't sign anyone.

Looking like a three way battle between us, Carlisle and Oldham right now.

I think we've probably got the best manager out of the three but the worst team. Hill is doing everything he can right now, he has the team fighting for him but we just don't have enough quality to win right now.

January is gonna be huge, Hill needs to be given money to spend. We cannot keep paying Conference North wages and expecting to get better than Conference North players.

Best hope for these three is that Derby get thrown out and only one space to be relegated.

Do you know what your budget is by any chance?

Don't know an exact amount but it's not a secret at the club that it's the smallest it's ever been (in the modern era) and one of the smallest in the league. It is so small that we couldn't even afford to trigger an extension in the club's favour for Jacob Bedeau (CB who joined Burnley) in summer.

What's gone wrong at Scunny? At the very least I always expected Scunthorpe to turn up with a half decent side and were always competitive and horrible to play against especially at GP. For many years it seemed like you were a L2/L1 yoyo club who were always competitive especially when in L2. Budget wise you never used to have a problem and crowds seem to have dropped off badly for you.

We’ve 100% got the worst team. We only managed to scrape a fairly undeserved point against you and that was only because your players shit themselves at 2-0 up. We’ve already played both yourselves and Oldham at home, didn’t win either, on paper our two easiest games of the season and were second best in both.

January will be key, but I think we have the toughest problem to solve in the fact we can’t score any goals and goal scorers are the hardest players to find.

I have us as big favourites for bottom spot.

Sure they're in pretty bad shape financially, a few years ago Scunny fans were saying that it wasn’t a problem, has it caught up with them perhaps?

We threw everything at trying to make it to the Championship and we failed, we lost all our best players and weren't able to replace them. Our chairman promised a lot to us and the majority of it was just a big lie. For a while I defended him and thought he was an honest man who just made mistakes, I agree with most of our fanbase now and think he's a con man. He's asset stripped the club and left us in a horrendous state, the club may not exist if we get relegated.

Our budget is tiny now because we overspent in our L1 days without any true success and we had to bite the bullet at some point, I think clubs like Mansfield are going to have to do the same eventually. Our crowds are tiny now because we almost never win, we've won 3 of our last 41 games and we haven't looked even slightly competitive for more than half of those.

It did catch up with us for sure. I was one of those fans as I defended our chairman and thought he had a plan for everything, turns out he obviously didn't.

Bottega Don will confirm, but they had multi-millionaire Steve Wharton as Chairman from the early 00's until Swann arrived so they've had good backing from owners for nearly two decades now. Difference being, Wharton generally seemed to know what he was doing (or appointed people who knew what they were doing).

He couldn't get hold of the ground at Trinity because of their Supporters Trust. I'm assuming you don't have one, or they don't have Board representation?

Wharton didn't really back us with much money, we were one of the only clubs in the FL to turn a profit when he was in charge. He seemed negative but he was a realist, he knew how far this club could go and he didn't want to risk the club's future by going for more. Swann is the opposite, he's incredibly ambitious but has fucked the club over due to that.

I'm not sure really what happened with the ground, someone just found like some finance sheet saying that ownership of the ground was transferred from Scunthorpe United to Coolsilk (Swanns company). Swann justified this by saying it was payment for a 11m loan that we owe him. The land that Glanford Park is on is worth a lot more than 11m so not sure where he got that number from. We have the Iron Trust but I have no idea of their impact at board level.

How much is the land worth?

Good points for scunny and oldham yesterday, also a win for carlisle which drags stevenage well into it who have been slowly sinking.

Scunthorpe got a point at stevenage tuesday, carlisle and mansfield have won there in the last month - that can’t be a good sign.

On a side note, hopefully we should be not involved in this for a while!

Stevenage were terrible yesterday. We didn’t even play well, but I never thought they were getting anything from it once we went 1-0 up. Surely they can’t have been that bad all season, otherwise they wouldn’t have a point.

What they do have is a good manager who you’d think could attract some decent players in January. I reckon they’ll be fine come january.

I did forget they appointed Tisdale.

O’Toole who’s actually been superb for us since signing the other month, was actually training with Stevenage but their previous manager was not given the funds to sign him. Big mistake from whoever runs them.

With regards to January -- I doubt that will happen.
